AX92U keeps getting fatal error on WL1 (5 Ghz #1) - any advice

Looking into it more, it appears it used to be that way where the 5Ghz-2 band was used as a dedicated backhaul exclusively if you did wireless AIMesh, but then ASUS provided an update that changed it. Now, the 5GHz-2 band can still be used as a dedicated backhaul exclusively if you want, as a...

AX92U keeps getting fatal error on WL1 (5 Ghz #1) - any advice

Thanks for the response. For probably the last 6 months, everything was working fine. Seems to be something that has started only in the last month, but have not changed anything on the network (same devices, same usage). The problem with using the 92u's in wireless backhaul is I thought...

AX92U keeps getting fatal error on WL1 (5 Ghz #1) - any advice

I'm facing the exact same thing. Running Firmware Version : 3.0.0.4.386_41712-gf4ae027. Have a near identical setup as you. Two devices, connected via wired backhaul, running all three bands (most smart home devices on 2.4Ghz network). The only difference I have is I'm not using AI Mesh on...

Asus AX6100 (two AX 92U routers)

Hi Steve, Just came across this post, as I have two 92U's, and have been having hit/miss performance, and return date is coming up quick. Do you have your devices wired backhaul or wireless? I'm wired, and running Router + Access Point. Using different SSID's for the 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz-1 and...

Slow internet on latest firmware for RT-AX92u

If I may ask, what type of devices and how are you checking your speeds? Are these devices on the 5Ghz-1 or 5Ghz-2 band?

    RT-AX92U set...Random overnight disconnect

I took a look, and port 2 is the wired connection to the AIMesh node AX92U unit, which is odd. Now, what's even more interesting, is that my 5Ghz-2 band (which is set for AX only) is running at half speeds as before. I was hitting close to 600 Gbps with my iPhone 11's and 11 Pro's connected...

    RT-AX92U set...Random overnight disconnect

So, interestingly, I was poking around in the admin page, and all 38 wireless clients in my house are connected to my AIMesh node, and it appears nothing is connected directly to my main router (other than the AIMesh node, which is hardwired to the router). Normally, it's about 28-30 connected...

    RT-AX92U set...Random overnight disconnect

Upon waking up this morning, I noticed that my alarm system dropped off of WiFi and fell back to Cellular connectivity for a few seconds at 1:38am last night. I checked the ASUS log, and I see the following. Looks like everything was fine after midnight until 1:37am. Anyone know what the log...

Slow internet on latest firmware for RT-AX92u

587Mbps with the AC routers? That's really good. What type of devices are you seeing that with? Most of my AC devices and routers were capping at 200-300 with my previous NetGear ORBI RBK50 set before. But, that set is only AC3000.

Slow internet on latest firmware for RT-AX92u

I've had mine for a week now, and I'm pretty happy with the performance on the latest firmware running one as a router and one as an AIMesh node with Wired backual. Hitting around 600 Mbps on the 5Ghz-2 band with our iPhone 11 and 11 Pros in the house (I have the 5Ghz-2 band set to AX mode...

    RT-AX58U Wifi 6 Speed with iPhone 11

I currently was experimenting with a set of RT-AX58U’s as a router and AiMesh node, and my iPhone 11 Pro and my wife’s iPhone 11 could not get above that either. Both consistently hitting 475-500 Mbps. I have since swapped them out for a set of RT-AX92U’s, and upon switching the devices from...

Slow internet on latest firmware for RT-AX92u

If you update the firmware, and you are using a WIRED backhaul from the router to the node, can you tell me if you get a message on the main info landing page for 5Ghz-2 saying that it’s being used for wireless backhaul and can’t be used for clients, despite the fact the node is in fact wired...

    Asus RT-AX92U with 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 experiences

In my case, my iPhone 11 Pro which was on 5Ghz-2 did not reconnect to either the 5Ghz-1 or 2.4Ghz bands. It just stayed disconnected from the WiFi completely until I turned WiFi off and then back on. My wife and daughter's iPhone 11's also did the same. All other devices connected to the...

    Asus RT-AX92U with 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 experiences

Can you explain what you mean by a client priority issue on my side? My router and my node are connected via WIRED backhaul, so there should be no need to use 5Ghz-2 for anything other than clients.

    Asus RT-AX92U with 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 experiences

Are you using two routers in AI mesh node with wired or wireless backhaul? I updated my firmware, and now my router says that my 5Ghz-2 band is being used to provide wireless backhaul to the other AX92U in AIMesh mode on the home screen, despite the fact that my AiMesh node is connected via...

    Asus RT-AX92U with 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 experiences

Was wondering how has your experience been over the last week+ with the new firmware? I've been holding off upgrading the firmware on my set of AX92U's.
