    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

Just to confirm what you're suggesting here. If I set, for example, Express vpn to "Disabled", put the express vpn pushed dns address in the WAN settings and in the client rules so the vpn will work when set to disabled, create IPSETS with this configuration, then, eventually, when I think I've...

    bash aliases

I'm using Merlin, but don't see the /jffs/configs/profile.add file. I'm pretty sure I saw it when I had x3mRouting loaded. Do I need x3mRouting to add alaises? I CAN see /rom/etc/profile /tmp/mnt/entware/entware/etc/profile /tmp/etc/profile But some of them are read only. I could chmod them...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

AND try to increase my vpn tcp/ip router understanding....

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

It's not a "must have". I just like to play, and x3mRouting looked interesting.

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

Been there already, and spoken to the x3mRouting author, xentrk, who was very helpful and had some ideas but did advise me there's not really a viable solution when using nord and/or express, because of the need to use "Exclusive". I've tried every which way, and, if you've read my threads...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

Yes. I can get everything working on Merlin, same as you. I was hoping to get x3mRouting working so I could use the flexibilty of routing using domain names, but x3mRouting won't work with "Accept DNS Exclusive" That's really where my problems began. Also, I don't have an issue with Netflix or...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

Just to clarify.. I want to use Expressvpn's Mediastreamer, It's excellent for unblocking some sites, but it does mean I must put it in the router's WAN DNS settings. I tried IT and Cloudflare and Google DNS's while testing. None of them gave me everything I wanted. If I can't get pbr working...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

OK. I'm NOT obsessed with the Express vpn DNS, and I'm not ignoring your advice. Here's my timeline: I put my preferred DNS in the WAN settings. I put those same settings into the Express client, and set it for disabled. It's slow, and pic quality looks poorer, but it works. I do the same for...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

The only real issue with this fix is the fact i must put my chosen WAN DNS addresses AND the pushed Expressvpn DNS address in the destination field of the Client Rules gui to push them towards the VPN. If I don't put the pushed DNS address in, it doesn't work. Express vpn often, but doesn't...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

I HAVE tried it. When you suggested it. Works with Express, but although I haven't measured the speed, everything seems noticeably slower. However, that approach doesn't work with Nordvpn at all. Weird results with Netflix (Most of my stuff was no longer available), Prime knew I was using a...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

Very briefly took a look at this this morning, after reading DNS over TLS etc....I don't pretend to understand most of that discussion. Some I recognise... If I set Express to Exclusive. it works, unblocks the streams I want. Set to Exclusive, I cannot ping or traceroute the pushed DNS...

AC86U and manually assigned DHCP addresses

Manually assigned DHCP addresses work when the connection is via wireless, but doesn't appear to work when connected via ethernet. Running Merlin 386.2.4

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

Top sleuthing eibgrad. Please forgive my impatience. I'll do some more testing and come back to you. As a matter of interest, how do you interrogate DNSMasq, NAT table etc? Are there gui tools, or is it on the command line?

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

"No Answer" came the stern reply. Am I just asking completely stupid questions? Anyone?

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

I think we've got our wires crossed. Both Nord and Express are "Pushing" DNS addresses that are not in the same subnet as the tunnel address. NORD: PUSH_REPLY,redirect-gateway def1,dhcp-option DNS 103.86.96.100,dhcp-option DNS 103.86.99.100,sndbuf 524288,rcvbuf...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

And I've just tried this......: "x3mRouting 5 0 NETFLIX dnsmasq=netflix.com,nflxext.com,nflximg.net,nflxso.net,nflxvideo.net" That's pushing the NETFLIX traffic down the WAN of a NORD vpn set for Exclusive DNS. Or trying to. That doesn't work either. I'm guessing x3mRouting just doesn't work...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

I've just tried something else: I set VPN client 1 to route all traffic via the WAN (192.168.2.0/24 WAN) I put the Roku stick in VPN 1 ITV works, but although I have a rule for BTSPORT to use VPN 5 (ALL 5 BTSPORT autoscan=bt), as soon as I turn on VPN 1, BTSPORT stops working

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

I'm using a Roku streaming stick, with all the TV apps I want on it. I tried your approach, and it seemed to work. I created IPSET lists using autoscan for BBC, Britbox, BTSport, Nowtv. I can see these lists using the "liststats" command. I can see the number of entries growing as I access the...

Express and NordVPN only accept DNS Exclusive.

To get Express working with "Strict", then, I must bind the DNS 10.40.0.1 to the VPN using pbr, AND put the 10.40.0.1 adddress in my router WAN DNS settings? Is that correct? And you use your own preferred public DNS servers; bind them to the VPN using pbr; set "Accept DNS Configuration" to...
