Asus RT-AC88U merlin 386.1_2 getting drops on Verizon FIOS "WAN_Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly."

My ISP has 30mins lease time only. Thats why it’s so noticeable for me. Probably should go back to 384.19 if that shirt happens again. WAN DHCP suppose should be a straightforward basic function for a router, no one will expect it will be buggy on 386.

Asus RT-AC88U merlin 386.1_2 getting drops on Verizon FIOS "WAN_Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly."

I am running on a 2020 manufactured new AC86U. Should be the code problem? Resetting ONT is pretty handy for me here, I just call my ISP and they will perform the remote reset instantly and ready to go in 5 mins. All I have to do is sit there and see the lights on the ONT goes dark and went on...

    WAN connection drops

AC86U here. Having that issue also, I have FTTH installed but I am not with FIOS. by turning internet off then back on in status page does solve that issue, but the internet will still drops out randomly in 1 or 2 days. Sigh.... I dont really want to go back to 384.19 since I need AiMesh 2.0.

Asus RT-AC88U merlin 386.1_2 getting drops on Verizon FIOS "WAN_Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly."

I've had WAN dropout issue since 386, I am with AC86U also. When the internet drops out, the WAN DHCP lease status simply shows "Expired". Flashing to 41994 does not solve the issue entirely but fewer dropouts. Router log doesn't show anything. I was suspecting the issue was related to my ISP...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 Beta is now available

42095 is unreleased yet in ASUSWRT for both 86u in the moment. But Asus do actively provide updated GPL (even unreleased ) to Merlin for his development, sometimes ahead of Asus's own release.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

yea, mine is at 89c now with warm room temp like 25c something, with some youtube internet traffic at the background loading from 2 pc. Still 10c to the 100c throttling line. :D Just checked with "top", there is no cpu eating process is on right now, means the cpu is not under heavy load, no...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

mine is at 80c-81c. Given the environment temp right now, I consider it to be normal at 386 firmware (was at 75c-76c at 384). ASUS and Merlin said its fixed, then it's fixed :) Congrats to the 386.1 release merlin. Finally!:D

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

maybe thats why stock firmware doesn't even show the temp at all.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

apart from the temperature which merlin had nothing to do with it (80c is okay, but not excellent) seems beta 5 is stable enough for most of the people, looking forward to the final :)

    Release RT-AC86U 11th January 2021 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41634

since when ac86u became a buggy hardware to maintain:rolleyes: all kind of cpu wait, insufficient of ram, failing to upgrade seems like asus is trying to "making" you upgrade to an AX model:rolleyes:

    Release RT-AC86U 11th January 2021 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41634

You are advised to "defer" Asus' choice in the matter, like someone said on page 2. New Feature: 100c egg frying cpu!

    Release RT-AC86U 11th January 2021 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.41634

They think probably no one will notice the change because stock firmware do not show temperature in any way unless they ssh into their router. So... I am starting to become unsure about this. Our hope is on Merlin.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

huh, right at #379 I was running the new 386_41634, which is an official release of stock fw. It is not a beta and caused issue. Wondering will the actual 386.1 uses same GPL.
