    normal running temperature for ac86u is about 60-70c. at least I am running at 63 degree without any cooling solution. (rolled back to 40451) my current room temperature is at 21 degree, so, you are the one to decide is 88c normal or not.

    Will definitely switch back to merlin when 386.1 is officially live, I am from 384.19 which is appeared to be unstable for me. I am just worrying about the new stock fw will burn my cpu like hell because I am soon going to be out of warranty if the new fw broke my ac86u's cpu, its not possible...

    thanks merlin!!! But seriously, the temperature issue is just annoying, although stock firmware will not disclose the temperature in default. The problem is, should we trust them to let our router cpu burning like hell at 89,90 degrees?

    cpu wait in the new 386_41634 is still appear to be DISABLED. Temp is still 10c higher then usual. Since its closed source, any chance Asus did this on purpose or it's kind of mistake?

    CONFIRMED. Cpu Wait and Ethernet Auto Power Down both are DISABLED at 41634. CPU TEMP at 41634: 76 CPU TEMP at 40451: 67 Downgraded back to 40451 successfully.

    the problem occur due to merlin used 41535 as GPL based source code, which is the latest GPL available when beta4b cooks , which the problem exist. previous official 40451 was fine, I am wondering if asus correct the issue in this official 41634.

    I did just went back to stock 386 and factory reset everything, if its appears to be stable then it will be an old 384 fw issue. The wait for merlin 386 is just far too long for me for now, lets see hows goin for the final 386.1.

    and no, I didn't say a thing in merlin's discussion, given the fact he is already cooking 386.1, wasting time trouble shooting for the old 384.19 does not make sense.

    I am having random crash issue on 384.19, with factory reset for multiple times and still same thing, then I suspect was my router issue and got RMAed with a new one a week ago.     I've decided to move from merlin to official 386, given merlin 384.18 and .19 is not stable on ac86u, meanwhile merlin's 386 is still on beta 3 and having cpu temperature issue, there is not much choice for me.

    having an UI problem since 384.7 just like someone does mention before Internet status shown: Disconnected. But actually it is connected and internet works fine, any idea it is an ASUS bug or not? [UPDATE: CONFIRMED IT IS AN ISP ISSUE. ISP: NETVIGATOR (HKT)]
