    I keep getting an error in HackerPorts It says "Scanning /tmp/syslog.log for 'eth0' violations. Please wait ... Then it says "Syntax error in line 286 : unexpected newline" Any help will be appreciated!

    Ok! So I updated to ver. 3.05 of IPSET_Block today and it works perfectly again! I also updated to HackerPorts ver. 2.03. They both are working together! I'm a happy camper again! Thank you Martineau for the good work!

    Thank you for the reply! The script seems to work if left alone on cron schedule, but the "Hourly" run of "Save" gives "0 successfly blocked ip's" and at the end it says the "Banned" ip's are all expired!

    I tried to produce output from those commands as log1.txt, log2.txt, log3.txt but I only get log1.txt = 0 log2.txt is empty and log3.txt with the "Block IN" hangs and does not complete.

    Forget what I said! It is working ok. I guess it just didn't have anything to save for a couple hours. I still would like to know how to capture the output of grep though for future use. I use a putty terminal to run stuff from command line. Is there a way to capture the output of "Grep"?

    Yes! That is correct. It happens when I toggle SSH on/off. I am going to look into what we discussed(VPN). So I don't have to toggle it anymore though.

    Sorry! I stated this incorrectly. I should have said this happens when "Firewall start" runs when I disconnect SSH from the router or make a change to something on the GUI that causes the firewall to reset. It works ok at reboot.

    I tried the "Test ver. 28" and it ran just fine here! I really LIKE this script! I also LIKE Martineau's IPSET_Block script and have both of them running in cron. They are a good compliment to RMerlin's firmware! Thank you for your hard work!

    Enabling SSH

    I love your Malware-Filter script and I wouldn't trade it for another. I just was asking a question which Eric answered with a qualified answer. I just wanted it to run on schedule, not when I turned a firmware feature on/off. No disrespect meant by me at all!
