    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.25SF & v. 1.0.2.29SF

Yep! Bridge mode now works fine. Thanks to the hard work of Voxel on this. It is definitely faster and smoother than stock firmware. Even in bridge mode.

    Qualcomm StreamBoost

I'm sorry! I take back what I said. I think they all block some things or there would not be any need for different levels of support.

    Qualcomm StreamBoost

I'm using the R7800 in bridge mode at the moment. So! I cannot answer that right now. When it was in router mode. I just used the default settings. I did throttle it back a few times to get the "Buffer-Bloat" down, but it had to be throttled way back. The obvious difference between you and I is...

    Qualcomm StreamBoost

It may be based on fq_codel, but it doesn't work as well on my R7800 as the one on my RT-3100. I get a lot of "Buffer_Bloat" with the R7800, not with my Asus RT-3100.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Also try channels 149 through 165. I can't use the lower channels in my area. I have "Airtime Fairness" on and it does not seem to interfere with my wifi though I am in "Bridge" mode now. I have used it in router mode and no prob with my 5ghz. What all the experts on here will tell you is make...

RT-AC88U gets sluggish after a short time

Try turning off that hardware acceleration unless you are running above 100 mbps. It was causing my RT-3100 to run slower when it was on, but I'm only running 40/10 mbps.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.23SF & v. 1.0.2.24SF

Voxel is Fantastic! He has helped me in many ways to check my network and resolve issues that were occurring. He has determined that the Netgear "DOS Attack" reported by my router were in fact false positives. I get a lot of these in my logs, but they are actually from sites like Dropbox...

    Bridge Mode

Yes! I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

    Bridge Mode

I did follow that procedure, but it won't connect. I think it might be a setting on the RT3100 that is blocking the connection. I have looked at the logs on the RT-3100, but I can't find anything that is outstandingly prevalent.

    Bridge Mode

Correct! I just can't get the R7800 to connect to my main router.

    Bridge Mode

I am trying to connect between two routers with the internal setting on the R7800 to another router on my lan. It works if I use the Asus as the bridge, but I can't get it to work with the R7800 as the bridge. The R7800 has a bridge mode, but I can't get it to connect as a media bridge.

    Bridge Mode

I cannot get my R7800 to connect in "Bridge" mode. I have tried different settings, but nothing seems to work. I had a previous R7800 that would work for this, but my current one will not connect. I have read most of the threads on this, but to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated!

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

I have been looking at the logs on the RT-3100 as close as I can. So far, no lost connections. I am still working on the R7800 with voxel advising me, so I'll keep trying with it down the road. I may try putting the R7800 into bridge mode and see what happens. The reason I haven't done that is...

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

I would suggest not getting an Arris 6141. That is what I had and where Voxel said my problem originated! I currently have a Netgear CM-400 and it works better for me. Not saying it will fix your problem. Just saying what I have gone through.

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

Ah! Ok! I see! I have not changed the fifth octet, but for the time being. I am using my RT-3100 which is not getting the disconnections that my R7800 was. Voxel is looking into the problem at the moment, so I don't want to change back to the Netgear until he has investigated this more...

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

On my R7800 it can be changed under the Setup tab > Internet Setup. Choose "Use this MAC address". Try going up one on the sixth octet. Not sure about your firmware though.

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

I am not trying to steal this thread from OP just add what I have done so far to get a point across. I have to this point done the following to no avail: 1) Called IPS to try to get them to change "WAN" ip = No success 2) Changed "MAC" to get a new "WAN" ip = This worked as far as changing...

Netgear AC1900 or Modem (Motorola SB5100)?

Please see my thread on DDOS attacks https://www.snbforums.com/threads/ddos-attacks.37493/. I am having a similar problem and have gone through numerous changes of equipment to try and fix this. The attackers are able to take my internet connection down. As a last resort I have switched back to...

    DDOS Attacks

Well! With the help of Voxel. We have determined that the attacks are targeting my Arris cable modem. I am to replace the one I have with a Netgear modem to see if that fixes the problem.
