[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

Hi @RMerlin, Very minor thing. Your first post has "Edit 2-Nov-2017: Uploaded 382.1 Beta 2. Changelog:" which i think you meant to put "Beta 3".

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

I'm in the same boat. Just bought a AC86u to replace my AC66u. Asus better realize what their stupid decisions are doing. Look at how many people have downloaded the alpha/beta 382. A lot of customers are only customers because of Merlin. They need to have an open dialogue with him and stop...

    [Alpha] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Alpha

I am seeing the same in my log and clients also not appearing. or disappearing and reappearing. Doesn't seem to be impacting the clients themselves so far that I've seen.

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

Go to the Security section of your gmail account: https://myaccount.google.com/security click on "App Passwords" then just fill in the details (use custom) and it'll spit out a password just for that activity.

You don't need to disable 2FA. You just create an application password specifically for AIProtection.

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

I have it enabled on my AC86u. I can't find the thread, but RMerlin mentioned that it's the same software stack that trendmicro sells on their corporate side. He seemed to think highly of it.

    RT-AC86U hit the FCC

I've never used an AC88u, but based on the below chart, i can't imagine you'd see a significant difference to justify the upgrade. You'd also lose 4 LAN ports.

    RT-AC86U hit the FCC

Yes it has smart connect. But whether you'll see a benefit over the AC68u is entirely based on what you need or do with your router.

Port mapping for Transmission problem AC86U

FYI, if you're using a VPN, that VPN service has to allow port forwarding for it to work. PIA does, others do not. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

    RT-AC86u Officially announced

Just picked myself up a AC86u (returned the AC1900p i picked up a week before). Going to put it through its paces before it takes over for my dependable AC66u. @RMerlin Let me know if you need any help testing at any point :)

    RT-AC86u Officially announced

For my needs. $60 for better, newer specs and the latest generation versus older generation (although stability is a concern) is worth it. I was having trouble justifying the jump to the RT-AC3100. The AC86u strikes the right balance. I'm just a little gun shy being an early adopter.

    RT-AC86u Officially announced

I'm seeing this in stock in Best Buy Canada for $259.99 CDN. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/asus-wireless-ac2900-dual-band-gigabit-router-rt-ac86u/11281277.aspx? I just ordered an RT-AC1900R, thinking of cancelling/returning that in favour of this. But, not until Merlin officially...

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

Just ordered an RT-AC1900P to replace an RT-AC66U (A1) that I'll be giving to my parents. Looking forward to the extra horsepower :) Edit: Returned the AC1900p for the AC86u instead.
