Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

So I think I found the cause of why the scripts weren't sticking. It seems each time I change and apply settinga from within the WEBGUI for either 'Ai Protection', 'Adaptive QoS', 'Traffic Analyzer' the scripts are removed. Now the question is, is there anything I can do about this?

No I don't. Ony have QOS switched on under Adaptive QOS.

Hmm, so I've been noticing recently that these filters don't seem to stick. Is there a reason or something I'm doing wrong? i can activate both the Malware and Privacy filters no problem. I even initiate the command iptables -L | grep malware and iptables -L | grep privacy which correctly shows...

Permanently moving traffic.db and syslog.log over to a USB Drive?

Hey @ColinTaylor. Sorry for the late reply. Hmm, no I haven't really been making any changes to the wireless settings. I've had a look at the link you posted and I believe what I'm seeing is probably a little different. I should have added in my earlier post the full extract of what I see...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Thanks. It's only because I'm not sure if there's something laying about that is affecting downloading PS4 updates. Not just in /JFFS but in perhaps other directories.

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Thanks. I only ask because I'm not sure whether the firewall or the filters I've enabled are messing about with downloading updates on the PS4. I've tried going into any scripts I remember creating and just cutting out the text and keeping it safe so I can paste the script back in. None of it...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Hi guys. By the way, I forgot to ask. If I want to disable these scripts temporarily is there a command for that or some way I can do it? Thanks.

So you mean I can just paste in the following command while SSHed in? cru a malware-filter "0 */12 * * */tmp/mnt/sda1/filters/malware-filter/malware-block" And that should work? How can I confirm it is indeed running as I don't get a success output.

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

I do have AiProtection 'Parental Controls - Web & Apps Filters' enabled. Would that have something to do with it? I'm not sure what a cron job is or how to run it. I've heard the term but that's as far as it goes :p

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Hi again :) Blocklists have been running fine since Sunday. However it seems I need to manually run the privacy-filter and malware-filter every day to get it to activate. When I run the command iptables -L | grep malware and iptables -L | grep privacy, it displays nothing but if I manually...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Great. Thanks for those two commands. It does indeed show the list of IPs in the first command and the Reject all rule for the second. I've followed your step to drop logged packet type. What does this do exactly? I'm assuming it would show up in the system log on the WebUI if there was a match...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Sorry, last question for now, promise :P Is there a command to verify that everything is working as it should and that it's blocking the ips in the malware list?

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Cool thanks. One more question. Can I move these over to a USB drive? Only because I don't want too much unnecessary writes to the flash. I assume it's just a matter of changing the path name in the script?

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Thanks a lot. Will try it out By the way. I tried out your Privacy Filter script and I think I got it to work! To confirm I pinged one of the hostnames and it came back as 127.0.01 (loopback). So I'm assuming that it's working? One more thing. I couldn't get the script to work originally...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

I see. So if I want Peerguardian to work I just replace the ipset4 parameter with the above code you have posted? You mentioned tweaking some of the ipset commands in the script. Can you give an example please?

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Well I had this in mind #!/bin/sh # Original script by swetoast. Updates by Neurophile. # SET CONFIG path=/jffs/filters #path for malware filter files # END CONFIG # SET VARIBLES regexp=`echo "\b([0-9]{1,3}\.){3}[0-9]{1,3}\b"` # END VARIBLES # Loading ipset modules lsmod | grep "ipt_set" >...

Thanks So would I need to include the above syntax you have posted and replace the portion in @swetoast script from "# Create the malware-filter (primary) if does not exists" upwards?

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Thanks for the reply and advice tomsk. Since purchasing the router, I've been doing a lot of research on syntax and command lines within the forum and general Google searching but I feel you need to have a solid understanding of how all of this works to really make sense of it. I can say I know...

Help with setting blocklists on an AC68U

Thanks guys for the helpful replies so far! I've been looking at the links and I'm happy to be learning something new each day in regards to syntax and commands etc however a lot it still flies over my head. @tomsk. I typed ipset while SShed and the output I get is the same as yours. v6.29...
