    For me the main benefit of AiMesh 2.0 is the ability to have guest networks advertised on mesh nodes with intranet isolation enabled. This is a feature that you would have either needed to write custom scripts for if using an AP as a node or look at more expensive kit targetting the SOHO market...

    @Ninko are you looking at signal strengths? @GarrHaal never said that the signal strength was better, they just that they could connect from their garage with the new router, so may not be the same issue with the 2.4Ghz channel.

    Thanks for the extra info, I think it's the 'access intranet' disabled setting that causes the problem. I'm not sure how this is implemented in the router but it doesn't seem to like devices which are connected in via a repeater. I may just have to bite the bullet and not bother with the guest...
