Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Using 'Device Discovery' with the WiFiman Ubiquiti app on RC2-6 guest network with intranet isolation enabled the only devices I can find are the main router (albeit with a 192.168.102.1 address) and some amazon firesticks that are also on the guest network. None of the devices on the main...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Update from me. I originally was trying to use a AC68U as an AiMesh node using wireless backhaul to a AX88U, however whenever I enabled guest networks with intranet isolation pushed out to the mesh node I started getting packetloss on the main WLAN network (the guest was fine). If I set the...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

@ASUSWRT_2020 I have the same issue as before with RC2-6, I am still seeing packet loss on the main WLAN when connected via the AiMesh node (AC68U) using wireless backhaul to the main router (AX88U). It happens on clients connected wirelessly to the node and wired. I have a separate guest...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

For me the main benefit of AiMesh 2.0 is the ability to have guest networks advertised on mesh nodes with intranet isolation enabled. This is a feature that you would have either needed to write custom scripts for if using an AP as a node or look at more expensive kit targetting the SOHO market...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

OE are you not seeing any packet loss anymore? I've tried a factory reset on both primary router (RT-AX88U) and node (AC-68U) both on RC2-5, using 5Ghz as wireless backhaul with a guest network pushed out the the node, I still get packet loss on the primary wireless network, even when I...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

I have the same problem as on the last RC (39485), on the primary network using the 5Ghz for the backhaul, I have intermittent packet loss, there are still errors in the log like this: Sep 11 17:23:50 kernel: ^[[0;33;41m[ERROR vlan] vlanIoctl ,652: Failed to delete VLAN device wds0.0.1.501^[[0m...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Has anyone tried wired connectivity to a wireless backhaul connected AIMesh 2.0 node? I'm getting significant packet loss using this setup, however devices which connect to the mesh node's guest network don't get any packet loss and the interface reports good connectivity between the main...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

The latest update does include a beta firmware for the RT-AX92U if you look in the files shared via their google drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1twgcnXo_ywSZG2GU67V6Zl_T0RAyiBvb

    Wi-Fi Signal Strength RT-AC86U v RT-AX88U

@Ninko are you looking at signal strengths? @GarrHaal never said that the signal strength was better, they just that they could connect from their garage with the new router, so may not be the same issue with the 2.4Ghz channel.

Problems using an AC68U as a repeater of a guest wireless network from an AX88U

Thanks for the extra info, I think it's the 'access intranet' disabled setting that causes the problem. I'm not sure how this is implemented in the router but it doesn't seem to like devices which are connected in via a repeater. I may just have to bite the bullet and not bother with the guest...

Problems using an AC68U as a repeater of a guest wireless network from an AX88U

It's interesting that you have managed to get this working. As L&LD suggests, I'd started to think that what I was trying just wasn't possible due to how ASUS have implemented guest networks on the router (I know at least that it doesn't appear to be using a separate VLAN tag). I did configure...

Problems using an AC68U as a repeater of a guest wireless network from an AX88U

I'm trying to use an AC68U as a repeater. However I want to repeat the guest network from the main router (AX88U) rather than the main wireless network. However I can't seem to get it to work. Setting up the AC68U as a repeater works fine, I can configure it to connect to one of the Guest...

    Wi-Fi Signal Strength RT-AC86U v RT-AX88U

I recently upgraded my main AC68U with an AX88U and noticed a drop in 2.4Ghz signal strength with the new router. I've read through this thread which has been really helpful in at least confirming I'm not the only one seeing this. However, even though the signal strength is lower, I've done...
