    I would. Then you delete the middle man from seeing your dns request

    I will at times tunnel my unbound through my VPN server.

    Have been running RPi4 with Pihole and unbound for awhile now, set it up and forget it, haven't had any issues for over 4 months now

    When using guest network #1 here and redirected to VPN set to YES, no clients can access the internet, but as soon as I set everything to guest #2 and redirect set to yes again. They are able to access the internet

    Very easy to install if you flash dietpi first onto your sd card, then you can easily install there software, like pi-hole or unbound, one click and it self installs whatever software you want https://dietpi.com/dietpi-software.html

    Yes, its in your dns setting, You can use the QUIC( its uses port 814) dns servers instead of the DOT/DOH

    Have been running Pi-hole along with Unbound installed on a raspberry Pi 4 without any issues yes easy to input the number into the router so that all clients will go through the Pi
