Problems with Reboot Scheduler - Router Locks Up

Thanks RMerlin I have never experienced a lockup during a manual reboot (GUI or SSH), so I am inclined to think that something is up with the Reboot Scheduler. I will redirect the Syslog to another server and capture that next time it locks up to see if it is during shutdown.

    Running out of NVRAM

Thanks RMerlin, will test that right away!

    Running out of NVRAM

Sorry Blinkyz... missed that because I thought it was not relevant to the question, as the problem happened in two different routers (N66U and AC56U), and Merlin Firmware versions (from .50 to .58) RMerlin already provided good news with version .59 moving the problem variables to JFFS. I will...

Problems with Reboot Scheduler - Router Locks Up

Well, the reason for the scheduled reboot was to avoid the random lockups. We have since disabled the scheduled reboot and have most of the routers working well for the past month. We haven't updated t0 .59 because of the reports of problems with OpenVPN. Besides, there is no indication on the...

    Running out of NVRAM

We have a router that servers around 200 clients, and consistently run out of NVRAM, resetting to factory defaults. Analysing the NVRAM content, 10Kb are in use by client_info_tmp and nmp_client_list and I believe this is the main issue. We moved everything we could to JFFS (8x OpenVPN, routes...

Problems with Reboot Scheduler - Router Locks Up

We have been experiencing some issues with routers not coming back from a weekly scheduled reboot. It doesn't happen every time, but consistently every couple of weeks. So far, this is happening on 7 different routers (RT-AC56U) on 5 different locations (and configurations) with .57 and .58...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 is available

Hi RMerlin, thanks for looking into it. That Subnet is actually on the firmware that works (54_2) and it is somehow calculated automatically (no place on the GUI to specify it).

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 is available

I am experiencing the same issue described here: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/ac68-merlin-378-56-beta2-openvpn-cant-start.27774/#post-212783 That was during beta, but I am having it with the final .56 version. AC56U OpenVPN Server cannot start (TUN, Static Key, Routed Point2Point VPN)...

WAN and LAN over 1 utp cable

Much cheaper and faster would be to use the only network cable to put an Access Point in the living room. Buy a cheap (yet powerful/featureful) RT-AC56 to be your main router and use the AC87 as an access point.

    Cannot access 10.0.0.1 from PC

In my experience, I could not assign 10.0.0.1 as the LAN address of a router (inherited subnet... not my choice). Every time I did, I lost access to the router... it seems like some kind of "black hole" in the routing/firewall/iptables. At the time I didn't have much time to mess around...

    Issue with Ping over OpenVPN

Long Time user, first time posting. Today I received a call from a customer reporting that after a small change on the client-side of a routed OpenVPN connection between two offices, he could not ping an address on the server-side that was previously pinging before the restart. (keep in mind...
