    Wireless log

Is there anyway to get the wireless log page for an AiMesh node? I'm trying to troubleshoot some random tasmota devices that seem to lose WiFi even though they can be 2m from the main router. It's great that I can see live on the main router but not the AiMesh node.

Site survey shall I move my 5Ghz?

Playing around in site survey and was wondering if I need to move my 5Ghz Channel bandwidth and Control channel? Also is it possible to run it from the RT-AC68U mesh box? 2.4Ghz looks good 5Ghz my neighbours and I seam to sit on the same area but are their signal strength weak enough to not...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Hit my first odd bug today. Was poking around Network map, went to rename a device so it made more sense, have done this already a few times. Went to go to a different view and router web page timed out and died. Wi-Fi, internet etc. all still working, tried a different browser but no response...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

No issues so far using mine as per signature. I did need to wait about 5-10 min before I got the web page back but internet/Wi-Fi access worked fine.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

I don't really have a problem with temperatures on my RT-AC86U but had an old pair of USB fans knocking about so cable tied them on the back pulling air out, temps as below now. It's a simple inexpensive mod or free in my case if you have the bits laying around... Before After

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

I reset it before thinking it would clear everything out, oh well it seems ok so far. I guess I'm in the dirty upgrade brigade? Sorted the USB thing outside, unplugged, replugged it a few times then reran amtm for it to find and format it, I now see. calz@RT-AC86U:/tmp/home/root# df -h...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Actually reading between the lines JFFS is internal to the router. Can I access the USB stick via SSH and do I need to move anything to it, I can't remember why it's in there now, I remember plugging it for amtm/diversion etc but lost in the back of my memory :(

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Took the plunge and did the upgrade. I reset both boxes using WPS method before bringing up then patching, imported nothing, so far so good, fingers crossed. I'm a little confused as to whether I'm actually using the USB stick I've plugged in as the JFFS partition though... I left the USB stick...

How many people are running this on an RT-AC86U without any issues?

    Let's Encrypt Status: Authorizing

For now I used the work around as above by @Rafael Viana but the whole port 80 bit, does that mean I need to setup a port forward of 80 to 80 to my routers IP for this to work?

    Local DNS names

Ok cheers I'll give it a go :)

    Local DNS names

Can you make it .lan? I'm trying to make the FQDN as short as possible so mydevice.lan would work. Or could I just use mydevice and the DNS request will lookup in .lan or would I need to specify the "DNS suffix for this connection" option as .lan in my Win10 network settings?

    Local DNS names

actually after running nslookup of the 1 that did work (nas) it says Server: RT-AC86U Address: 192.168.1.1 *** No internal type for both IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses (A+AAAA) records available for nasx when I ping it adds .local to the end so not 100% sure who, what or how that works, there's...

    Local DNS names

Is there anything I need to do to make this work effectively? I thought this should work but out of 7 devices with reserved IPs 2 work, 1 is the box I'm on and pinging so it's probably just resolving itself, all the others bar a NAS fail to resolve.

    Local DNS names

I have an RT-AC86U and a RT-AC68U in a mesh on 384.19 Am I right in assuming anything you set in the GUI at the 'network map' part as in 'Clients name' has absolutely no effect for local DNS purposes? Is there anyway to make it so it does? I searched about and the other way is creating and...

SSH between routers with no password

I'm not sure if I turned it on or it was just on to be honest, I think it was just on remote node, it uses the same user/pass as the primary node so it must sync it. Anyway I'm happy bunny now as I got the primary router to do the wl lookup on the remote node for my presence detection script...

    Dropbear/ssh without remote password

Solved this in the end as per Thread here if anyone picks this up one day when using AiMesh.

SSH between routers with no password

It's an AiMesh node so there is no GUI to log into, it won't let you as it wants to centrally mange it via the primary node. On the primary it's already turned on. Anyway the command dave14305 gave nvram set jffs2_scripts=1; nvram commit seemed to get me over the final hurdle. I bounced the...

SSH between routers with no password

I have a services-start script as below to copy the file back #!/bin/sh # /jffs/scripts/services-start cp /jffs/.ssh/authorized_keys /home/root/.ssh/authorized_keys I think this isn't running though as in syslog I see "May 5 06:05:16 custom_script: Found services-start, but custom script...
