ASUS GT-AX89X and GT-AX11000 AIMesh w/2.5G Ethernet backhaul speed issue with GT-AX11000 on 5Ghz

If you go through the RT-AX89X threads on the forum, you'll see there've been a number of issues with the SFP+ port such as the copper transceiver module plugged in getting uncomfortably hot and affecting wired and wireless speeds. Before I got my 10Gbe switch I'd simply use the 1G (RJ45) ports...

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

I'll probably go for the tri-band BE96. Most of my devices are still WiFi 6 and use the 160Mhz DFS channels on the 5Ghz band. My experience with the quad-band AXE16000s (which I returned) saw those same devices frequently and randomly disconnect and reconnect as they switched back and forth...

Did ASUS Fixed AXE-16000 10Gb Speed issues?

On the AXE16000, enabling any of the functions above would limit my wired upload and download speeds to 2.5Gbps. WAN-LAN. So Asus Tech Support basically told me to disable all of that to get optimal speeds. However, I switched to Asus routers for the AiProtection suite so not being able to use...

Did ASUS Fixed AXE-16000 10Gb Speed issues?

I had speed issues when I tested the AXE16000 and complained to Asus Tech Support about it. It is supposedly a CPU limitation on the router's end and you'll need to keep all QoS, VPN and AiProtection functions disabled to get close to 10Gbps wired speeds on the LAN side. Asus said they'd work...

    ASUS RT-AX89X COMBINE 2he 2.4 and 5

I'd still get the RT-AX89X, simply because it fits my current use case. My ISP provides fiber broadband on an active network, meaning I just need to connect the fiber patch cable to the termination point in the home at one end and then directly to the RT-AX89X's SFP+ port with the ISP's SFP+...

    ASUS RT-AX89X COMBINE 2he 2.4 and 5

Yup same here. Most of my Wifi 6 clients do tend to connect to the 5Ghz band though on either AiMesh node.

    ASUS RT-AX89X COMBINE 2he 2.4 and 5

Unfortunately, wifi speed and range seem to have an inverse relationship. Higher speeds by using the 6Ghz band will also mean shorter range. Both Wifi 6E and Wifi 7 use the 6Ghz band. Wifi 7 has yet to be certified though and as of now, there are no devices that can utilize it at the moment...

    GT-AXE11000 Region change

If you look at this article published by Qualcomm: 'Wi-Fi 6E introduced a dramatic expansion of wide-channel spectrum use, with multiple 160 MHz channels available in any region where 6 GHz spectrum is allocated. Wi-Fi 7 doubles the possible channel bandwidth to 320 MHz. This doubles the...

    ASUS RT-AX89X COMBINE 2he 2.4 and 5

Have you tried disabling the Extended NSS setting? Keeping that setting enabled allows the RT-AX89X more compatibility with certain devices. However, this'll likely limit you to the 80MHz channels instead of the full 160MHz spectrum, which halves the connection speed to most Wi-Fi 6 enabled...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

TP Link has a Wifi 6E router with two 10G ports, one of which is an SFP+/10G-BaseT combo port. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCWBCY34/?tag=snbforums-20 It's also launched a Wifi 7 router with two 10G ports, one of which is an SFP+/10G-BaseT combo port, and four 2.5G ports. Not sure when it'll be...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

If your laptops have Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports, you could get a Thunderbolt to 10Gbe adapter like this one from QNAP. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KTLGTXB/?tag=snbforums-20 I've used this on both my Windows laptops and MacBooks and am able to get 8.9-9.1Gbps upload/download wired...

2023 Smartphones To Get Wifi 7 Support. TP-Link Announces Wifi 7 Routers

I see that Xiaomi kept to their release schedule for their Wifi 7-enabled Mi Router 10000. https://www.androidpimp.com/wireless-routers/xiaomi-router-10000/ It features Qualcomm's Tri-band Wifi 7 Networking Pro 1220 Platform...

    AXE11000 New Firmware

I checked and my AXE11000s also received a firmware upgrade without my authorization. Wifi range for all bands seems fine. Interestingly, it was the previous update Version 3.0.0.4.388.21224 72.58 MB 2022/10/17 which messed up my AiMesh wired backhaul. Meaning the AiMesh - Topology tab would...

RT AX-89X bitTorrent and NAT Acceleration enabled causes crashes

No No issues with BitTorrent downloads as far as I can tell. The RT-AX89X has been running stable for two years and counting in my case. Like I said before, if you can still max out your wired broadband speeds with NAT Acceleration disabled, you're good to go.

RT AX-89X bitTorrent and NAT Acceleration enabled causes crashes

If disabling NAT Acceleration already gives you maximum wired download/upload speeds, then as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. In my use case, I have NAT Acceleration enabled as that's the only way I can get close to the 10Gbps wired download/upload speeds offered by my ISP.

RT-AX89X, New user curious about any simple tweaks

Think this is widely known but if you've Gigabit fiber and want to max out your wifi connection speed to your 2X2 Wifi 6 devices at 2.4Gbps, you can try disabling the Extended NSS setting in the Wireless - Professional tab.

    News Asus announces Wi-Fi 7 ROG Rapture GT-BE98 quad-band WiFi 7 (802.11be) gaming router

It was a lighthearted dig alerting erick_e that someone else had already earlier started a thread on the GT-BE98 as per the link posted.

    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

For me, AiProtection was the culprit. With it enabled, I can only get about 2.6Gbps wired upload/download speeds on my PC vs 8.9-9.2Gbps with AiProtection off. So disabling it should probably give you your full 3Gbps wired speeds as advertised by your ISP or close to it.

    GT-BE98 WIFI 7

Perhaps its a custom overclocked CPU...similar to what Samsung's reportedly doing for the upcoming S23 range of smartphones. https://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-reportedly-has-an-overclocked-Snapdragon-8-Gen-2-for-the-Galaxy-S23-series_id143762
