    I find any adaptive qos, cake, pie, fq_codel all take that time to kick in. You will always get a ping fluctuations. This jitter is more important than priority. Keeping the line always stable with no bufferbloat. Try it. See if you like it until at least adaptive qos is fixed, because it's broken.

    @raion969 I use the bandwidth limiter to do this. I set my console to a static ip of 192.168.1.254. Set bandwidth limiter 10% lower than your speeds.     Can anyone confirm this actually works on the ax58u? As far as limiting upload and download speeds properly to combat bufferbloat? Be a lot of work to change everything back over to merlin, just to find out still doesn't work.

    Rmerlin doesn't have the latest gpl for this router. I hope when he does get it, it fixed the qos problem. The bandwidth limiter and traditional qos work fine. Just adaptive qos will not limit bandwidth, so bufferbloat is crazy. Everything else about this router is 100% perfect.

    You can look at the readme or changelogs, and you will see version numbers of firmware. Rmerlin just added support for this router as it's new tech.     For now, I've had the best results with the bandwidth limiter. One rule. 192.168.1.2-254 set my speeds to 5% lower. Never have a problem with lag, buffering or FaceTime and such. Triple a+ on dslreports, even though everyone says those results don't matter. Four adults one kid. At least 3...
