Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

Looking great for AX11000 and AX82

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

I have rebooted the GT-AX110000 and then switched back to stateless ... and so far the IPv6 addresses are sticking around. Interestingly it looks like both Managed and Other address config flags are true on the Win11 PC. All of the devices that don't support DHCPv6 are now happily getting and...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Ta. I've been so used to IPv6 "just working" that I never switched it from stateless previously. I'm not familiar enough with the mechanisms of IPv6 to figure out much more than the log entries I dragged up, but certainly seems like it drops off after the 10 min refresh. Stateful is stable...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

More or less as expected - switching to stateful mode means the IPv6 address has been retained over 10 mins, since expiry is now 86400 seconds. Not sure exactly why, but the Samsung S21 Ultra doesn't appear to like stateful mode and isn't receiving an IPv6 address. PC and laptop appear to be...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Okay so it looks like the drop of IPV6 address happens after 10 minutes, with the initiating event 51038: The information refresh time has expired, hence triggering a new inform packet on the interface 20. An event 51026 is logged: A valid reply is received for Info-request on the interface...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Router IPv6 is stable and continues to work as expected. It's only the clients that are dropping off. Checked with an Xbox and same effect. Not much I can do with it. The IPv6 page as of now shows only a few clients, including an iPhone, a Surface Laptop Go, and what looks like a bunch of...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Left it for some time and I've confirmed that the IPv6 addresses eventually drop off PC, laptop, and phone.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Observation - the IPv6 behaviour I'm seeing may be the result of roaming between AIMesh router and node, or vice versa. I haven't seen the same issue with the laptop using Intel Killer AX1650, which is configured to prefer the AIMesh router. An ipconfig /renew6 does reallocate an IPv6 IP. I'm...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

I do note a curious thing though - initially IPv6 addresses are allocated to my Windows 11 PC that has an Intel AX210 wireless adapter, but they seem to disappear after a while. Not observing the same issue with my Samsung S21 Ultra, so I'm not positive that this is related to the router and...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

GT-AX11000 updated to Beta 3, and Let's Encrypt promptly registered, DDNS working, and I can see IPv6 addresses allocated. Looking good. RT-AX88U mesh node also updated to Beta 3, fwiw. Obviously don't expect a difference to the result. IPv6 test below - all appears happy.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Thanks - this seems to explain testing that I performed yesterday, where I did a factory reset and then progressively configured the router until it 'lost' its IPv6. I couldn't quite correlate it to Lets Encrypt - I knew it happened somewhere around there as one of the last configs, but didn't...
