    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.5SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.2.5.1SF-HW

Doesn't seem to be Orbi specific, seems to be a common issue with Plex, I'd spend some time in their community as there are a number of threads with solutions for various network types that may help. https://forums.plex.tv/t/cant-access-server-when-router-in-ap-mode/162440/9...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

Can you be more specific about what "doesn't work"? What are you trying to do specifically, what is the result you are expecting, what is the actual result?

That was my Reddit thread. ;) This user is using a Mac and roughly followed the same process, the only variance for this particular user was:

To clarify: 1) Unplug power and any ethernet connected device from the satellite. 2) Your laptop should be manually configured to 192.168.1.10 | 255.255.255.0 3) You should have an ethernet cable plugged from the network jack on your laptop to the first Orbi satellite LAN port 4) You should...

Strange, I just tried again. Downgraded to 9.2.5.2.5 and got warning and then updated to 9.2.5.2.6 and did not get warning. I wonder why some get it and some do not. I have a v1 RBR50.

Strange. I did the same upgrade path and did not get that message. Did you get it on each of your devices or just on a specific device?

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

One of the reasons for the numbering of the the Voxel releases (a 9.x before the stock version #) is to always be a newer version than stock to avoid conflict as well as prevent auto updating.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

Reset to factory default settings while still on stock 2.5.x, then do the manual update to Voxel. If you try to factory reset while on Voxel (either via UI or by holding the reset button) it will soft brick your router and require you to TFTP stock back on via recovery mode. Also, for now...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

Just finished the update that I've done the firmware upgrade to both my satellites and router (v1). Quick and painless process. Flashed satellites one at a time, then the router. Waited for everything to sync and back up and running. Whole thing took 5 minutes start to finish. Fast. Stable.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

This setting will not make a difference if you are using wired backhaul.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

It is not entirely clear in the messaging here or in the readme. It current states to update to stock firmware 2.5.2.x. To be EVEN MORE CLEAR, if you are running 2.7 stock firmware or higher you MUST downgrade to a 2.5.2 or lower before flashing or you will soft brick your router and satellite...

Could the region code be a clue as to what's causing the brick when going from 2.7 -> Voxel perhaps? Curious if the brick during factory reset under Voxel is happening for the same reason?

This thread has more specifics on doing this from an Apple https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/ORBI-RBS50-RBK50-Firmware-upgrade-MAC-TFTP-New-Purchase-not/m-p/1902281/highlight/true

    1) This happened to me as well. 2.7 is a major change to the stock firmware. You need to flash an earlier stock firmware before flashing Voxel from my experience. If Voxel releases a firmware based on 2.7 that will hopefully address this issue. You need to flash the stock ROM via TFTP. This...

Did you have to revert to an older stock before you went back to Voxel or did you 2.7 -> Voxel without issue?

FYI, the leak from a few weeks ago was the same official binary that was released recently. One was just the staging for the auto update system.

It is probably not a good idea to have a mix of Voxel and non Voxel in your environment. I'd encourage you to run as close to the same level of firmware across your router and satellite as possible. To confirm, your ER-X is plugged into the WAN port of the Orbi router?

This thread has been idle for awhile, which honestly is a great sign as it means we're all stable with nothing to ask or complain about :) Thanks Voxel!
