    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

I would get to stock and factory reset, perhaps it failed from a corrupt configuration.. good way to get back to a good state if you wish to try again.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

Did you factory reset after the update? If powering it off and back on does not fix it, TFTP stock firmware back on and try the update again.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

Which is presumably a configuration option which can be set via telnet or a modified config file so that at least Voxel is not leaking this. In my testing I was unable to connect without pushing the button on the router so will need to wait for others testing results to see if this is an actual...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

There is a bit of discussion over the possibility that Orbi has a potential WPS vulnerability. The belief is that while they have hidden the PIN functionality, a pin still exists and is visible here: http://orbilogin.com/hidden_info.htm And is discoverable with network scanning tools...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

Can you clarify this statement? When you say that you fixed it in your version, do you mean the intetd stop or some other method? I'm not seeing slow down or a high CPU time when I view with Entware TOP. (I'm running 2.5.1.33) Just trying to figure out if I should proactively do something...

Custom firmware build for Orbi (a la FAQ)

On the tab bar of the Voxel website there is a "Readme" tab that links to a readme.docx file. The document has this line as part of the instructions: While the document does indicate it is for a different router than Orbi, it is creating confusion and causing some users to soft brick their...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

I upgraded from 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW to 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW. The upgrade took less than 5 minutes for both satellites and router. Can't say if it is any better, but certainly not any worse. Fast. Stable. Great job.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

If I were you, I'd flash the latest stock back on. Perform a factory reset. Keep default settings. Don't enable parental controls, disney circle or netgear armor. Wait 15 minutes for things to sync and settle and test.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

It is not listed in the changelog, so no. To do a factory reset, flash stock ROM back on, factory reset and then flash VOXEL back on. Never factory reset with VOXEL or you will soft brick and need to flash stock ROM back on via TFTP.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

Orbi has updated their stock firmware: https://kb.netgear.com/000062062/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-5-1-32

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

Looking at their changelog, it would suggest they have updated libraries, tools and configuration optimizations similar to Voxel: https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/features It appears from their downloads there is an image per model, similar to Voxel...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

Are you confusing the ZenWifi AX with something else? It is getting great reviews: https://www.cnet.com/reviews/asus-zenwifi-ax-review/ And costs less than what Orbi does: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081ZVFN64/?tag=snbforums-20 And because the satellites and routers can be interchanged you...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

Which Asus? I'm a bit fan of the Asus ZenWifi AX https://www.asus.com/Networking/ZenWiFi-AX-XT8/ I love that the router and satellites are interchangeable. I love that the wireless backhaul can be repurposed for wifi clients if you use wired backhaul. Great reviews.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

To be fair, I felt the same way about Orbi stock firmware. I used it for years without any issue. I updated to Voxel and it worked the same, only a little better.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.18SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.2.18.1SF-HW

It traditionally doesn't recover just by removing the offending device, you need to reboot the network and leave the device off as you mentioned to fully rule them out.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.18SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.2.18.1SF-HW

You've established that rebooting Orbi solves the problem. Orbi is a possible symptom, but potentially not the cause. Here is something to test, next time it happens, reboot your internet modem and not your Orbi and see what happens. I'd also look at your network devices in your environment...
