XT8 Issue Since Last 2 FW Updates

Thanks again for all the suggestions. My plan at this point is to go with a RT-AX86U and test it to see if will be enough for my requirements and if it’s more stable than the 2 node XT8 setup I have now. My house is only around 2800 sq ft and has no internal brick or stone walls (it’s relatively...

XT8 Issue Since Last 2 FW Updates

Thanks for the suggestions. I do have roaming off. The node is about as far away from the router as I can get it. About 50 feet and 1 floor up. The client can’t be moved. It’s a weather station display that also acts as the WiFi internet connection for the weather data. The XT8 has been oddly...

XT8 Issue Since Last 2 FW Updates

I do like the sw capability that is built into Asus routers. Previously I was using a RT-AC87U that was rock solid and worked well for years. When I decided to replace it last year I read some really good reviews of the XT8. I almost returned it in the first month but then Asus released a couple...

XT8 Issue Since Last 2 FW Updates

Since the last FW update, and continuing thru the most recent FW update just released, I have been having an issue with one of my wireless devices that had never been a problem before. I am running a vanilla XT8 setup with one router and one node using wired/Ethernet backhaul. One of my wireless...

XT8 Can't turn off "Dedicated Wireless Backhaul" in app

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but, finally got around to using wired backhaul for my XT8 node. While I am able to use the 5-2 band for devices I have not found a way to include the third band in Smartconnect. Is that still not possible or am I just missing something?

    Release Zenwifi XT8 Firmware 3.0.0.4.386_43170

Agree, I think it is very dependent on use case, devices, and environment. The latest FW release has bern completely stable for me. After the first couple of FW releases and a hard reset my AX mesh system has been very solid and reliable.

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 Firmware 3.0.0.4.386_43169

Are you in the UK by chance? Many folks in the UK seem to have issues like that due to interference from the weather radar.

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 Firmware 3.0.0.4.386_43169

I updated to 43170 the day it was released. Been running since with no problems…of course YMMV.

    Release Zenwifi XT8 Firmware 3.0.0.4.386_43170

It has updated both of my nodes every time I have done it. When the process finishes and the reboot is complete the router and all nodes have the new firmware.

Replacing BT Smart Hub 2 with Asus XT8

No reason to keep the BT Smart Hub IMO.

    Asus XT8 crash

Changing log levels doesn’t stop the logged events from happening, it just stops them from being logged.

    Asus XT8 crash

Whenever the router reboots when it restarts the log entries will have the May 5 date. That is normal. As to your spontaneous reboots, I would do a hard reset and see if that resolves it.

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 Firmware 3.0.0.4.386.42095

I use the web UI and the app...no problems.

Random crashes ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) & NTP/logging weirdness

Wish I could help. Mines been up for over 4 days with no problems. It would be longer but I made a configuration change that required a reboot...

Random crashes ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) & NTP/logging weirdness

I can’t corroborate that behavior . My two XT8S are running the latest released firmware (42095) and have been since a few days after it was released. They have been running very well. Maybe I’m just lucky...

    XT8 - “not mesh client, can’t update it’s ip”

I am running in AiMesh mode. After I did a power cycle of both the router and the mesh node I’m no longer seeing those entries in the log.

    XT8 - “not mesh client, can’t update it’s ip”

I keep seeing the subject line in my log. Sometimes is wireless clients sometimes wired. Anybody know what it means. I have an HP printer (OfficeJet Pro 9015e), which is a wired client not wireless, that is giving me pages and pages of that line in the log.

    XT8 FW 3.0.0.4.386.26044 breaks Sonos

Perhaps it is specific to the types of "sound systems". No issues here with any of my HEOS equipment.
