Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

@RMerlin IPv6 with 6in4 throws out an error for LAN IPv6 Prefix. It used to be fine with xxxx:xxx:xxxx:: but 386.1 says it's an invalid ip. Add a 1 at the end works for now. Thanks for the 386.1 update.

AC86U: Dual WAN Routing Rules - Trying to set *only* one device to use secondary WAN

The dual wan code is closed source and written by Asus. At least from my observation it's the upper rule first.

    Gigabit speeds w/ ac86u & Rogers Gigabit

My bad I thought you are using AC68U. For AC86U, you cannot change any hardware acceleration settings. CTF and FA are replaced by Flow Cache and Runner. Since you have both enabled, gigabit shouldn't be a problem. Maybe try a factory reset?

    Gigabit speeds w/ ac86u & Rogers Gigabit

Most likely the problem is cut through forwarding and flow accelerator. Go to LAN-Switch Control-NAT Acceleration and set it to Auto. What does it say on the right of Auto after you apply the setting?

AC86U: Dual WAN Routing Rules - Trying to set *only* one device to use secondary WAN

Would you give this a try? First rule 192.168.42.18-all-Secondary WAN Second rule 192.168.42.0/24-all-Primary WAN The first rule has priority over the second one so everything else besides .18 will use the primary WAN.

AC86U: Dual WAN Routing Rules - Trying to set *only* one device to use secondary WAN

My bad it should be 192.168.1.0/24-all-Primary Wan. Change the CIDR notation to your subnet.

AC86U: Dual WAN Routing Rules - Trying to set *only* one device to use secondary WAN

Just change your second rule to all-all-Primary WAN. I've been using dual wan like this for a long time.

Feature Request: Add option to advertise custom IPv6 DNS in LAN-DHCP Server

I forgot to post the script at first but I did post it in the other post mentioned above. It is a easy two-line script, but as you can see from the other post it still took people a few tries to get it work. This is not as important as other issues but non the less a helpful quality of life...

Feature Request: Add option to advertise custom IPv6 DNS in LAN-DHCP Server

Bump up the post. Two other users from this post also need the ability to set IPv6 DNS for DHCP from webui. Anyone can help to implement this?

Asuswrt-Merlin Serving IPV6 Router IP Instead of IPV6 DNS Server IP F/W 384.19

If the router advertises itself as DNS through DHCP and uses Pi-Hole as upstream DNS, then on the Pi-Hole chart there is going to be only a single client which is the router representing all the devices. If the router advertises Pi-Hole as DNS through DHCP, then each device is a separate client...

Asuswrt-Merlin Serving IPV6 Router IP Instead of IPV6 DNS Server IP F/W 384.19

Glad it works for you. I don't know why would you need dos2unix since I pasted it as a bash script. Enjoy your Pi-Hole with IPv6.

Asuswrt-Merlin Serving IPV6 Router IP Instead of IPV6 DNS Server IP F/W 384.19

Currently the webui only allows you to enter two IPv4 DNS and always advertises router's IPv6 address to clients as DNS even if "Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS" option is off. A JFFS script is needed to advertise an custom IPV6 DNS to DHCP clients. It works but it took...

AC68u, RPi pihole and DNS loop?

Do you enable IPv6 on your router? If so, the router will always push its own IPv6 IP to clients as one of the DNS even though you specified not advertise router's IP. In my case I just set pihole's IP on DHCP Server page and modified the IPv6 equivalent setting through script. I never have to...

Any command to force a client to use both wan?

IIRC the dualwan part is closed source so we're stuck with Asus's implementation. At least they increased the max number of rules from 32 to 64 sometime ago.

Any command to force a client to use both wan?

Well at last I went with dividing the whole LAN into lots of CIDR blocks and writing 20ish rules. Honestly why can't asus just allow writing a rule to use both wan? It would be much simpler than doing the opposite.

Any command to force a client to use both wan?

Unfortunately rules don't allow ip ranges so I guess using CIDR notations is the only option. Never thought about changing DHCP range before. Am I right that anything outside the range needs to have manual ip assignment?

Any command to force a client to use both wan?

That's true. The problem is that I need everything beside A and B to use WAN2 because asus's load balancing will break HTTPS connections. Currently I'm using Rule 1: "from device A to all use WAN1" Rule 2: "from 192.168.1.0/24 to all use WAN2" which works perfectly fine except device B can only...

Any command to force a client to use both wan?

Well by default it is but my second rule sets everything beside device A to use WAN2. And then there isn't an option in the webui to make an ip to use both wan.
