    I updated the 56U to 81409 and I also installed the 1.0.2.0 cfe from the 68U and ran some tests. I think my internet is supposed to be 500Mbs down and 100Mbs up Wireless I get about 60-75 down and 60-90 up. Wired I get about 140-160 down and 110-130 up. I did not test it before I put 1.0.2.0...

    Glad you got it working but I'm surprised you were getting such good speeds with the repeater and that the 56U is slower downloading than uploading. I haven't played around with mine lately but might update it and see what speeds I get.

    Are you using the latest firmware? I never tried using version 3.0.0.4.384.45717 if you are using that one you might downgrade to version 3.0.0.4.384.45713 or Version 3.0.0.4.384.45708 on both routers and see if that works.

    Did you clear the nvram after? If not it could be reporting whatever CFE was there before flashing. Try using the reset button if the WPS button is not working or by using the CLI to reset it.     If you haven't already I would try updating to last official firmware it might update the CFE also.

    They stay shutoff, I just plugged in router and it is not broadcasting. You also could have a different CFE version from what I have. I have 1.0.2.3 but there is also 1.0.1.9 and 1.0.2.8

    Just flashed RT-AC68U 3.0.0.4.384.45708 firmware to the 56U and still looks to be working correctly but will not be able to test till tomorrow. I am able to shut off the wireless in the "Wireless/Professional" tab

    Maybe try updating to last official firmware then do the conversion, don't know if it would help but it might.

    When you hold the WPS button it should take 20 seconds for the power light to start flashing. Did you hold it in for that amount of time?

    No I haven't but I haven't tried either. It is working and I only need 3 LAN ports for the time being, I might do it tomorrow while at work if I get some down time.

    As far as the LAN/WAN ports I changed it from vlan1ports=0 1 2 3 5* vlan2ports=4 5u to vlan1ports=1 2 3 4 5* vlan2ports=0 5u with no luck, actually I think LAN4 stopped working all together after changing but I did not test it before hand so can't say for sure.

    Glad you got it sorted A Pa. Sorry, I thought CFEEdit was in the zip file from "Bay Area Tech Pros", I think maybe it was in one of the 100's of replies on their site but I don't remember.

    They work correctly but LAN1 is now the WAN. Mine did the same thing until I changed the CFE. I used CFEEdit to edit because it is simple and lists all options without all the extra undecipherable stuff. You can try to reupload just the CFE that has been changed and see if that works if it...

    It is running in "Wireless router mode / AiMesh Router mode (Default)", there is another router that is running as a node but the 56U is controlling it. So it does work as a normal router too. That is why I'm upset with ASUS, it would take someone who really knows what they are doing to 5...

    I would check the CFE you copied from the router to the computer, open it in CFEEdit and look to see if it says RT-AC56U/R instead of RT-AC68U. I'm thinking you didn't copy, edit and write the CFE back to the router correctly or didn't clear the nvram by holding down the WPS button long enough...
