    I have a pair of 2.5 adapters from GoCoax that have worked great over the past year. But I want to change the IP address to be able to keep an eye on the connections. Do I just connect them one by one to my laptop directly, set a manual ip on laptop ethernet to something like 192.168.254.100...

    Thanks :). It did seem like if I flashed a new firmware than a lot of earlier steps were needed to be repeated :). Ok, will flash and do a reset and hope my random wifi issues go away... wife not pleased with this lately lol

    Ugh, switched over to 2.4ghz today on MacBook just to do a speedtest, and would get a no access to internet on it... time to do a nuclear reset on this and get that older firmware I think (or merlin 384.18)

    The MoCA adapter has a built in splitter with a coax out. Just go from that to the modem.

    Thanks! I ordered the ax88u and it will be here later in the week. I atarted having a ton of connection issues with my aimesh setup this week and last night removed the 68u and replaced it with a switch (connected over moca 2.5 to my ac3100) for Xbox and ps4 and appletv. It fixed every problem...

    Awesome thank you. I’ll stick with stock fw to start (upgrading to latest), use the same SSID’s for a quicker replacement (I’ll change the SSID if it causes issues), and I guess have plenty of time to read through the Merlin site right now sigh

    lol yeah we good. I ordered the ax88u today. What are the issues with the ac88? I have the ac3100 which I think is nearly identical to that. My main issue is likely a hardware fault where lan port 1 if I have anything plugged into it the whole router (lan and WiFi) goes to like a max of 1Mbps...

    very helpful thanks! I do separate ssids per band now and prefer that as well. Mainly iot on 2.4 and usage devices like computers and streaming on 5ghz or wired
