amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

They will and they won't...:) If you do Unbound, its installer comes with other add-ons that would possibly compete and interfere with scripts like Diversion (and maybe Skynet...although I'm not sure on this one). As for me, I'm running unbound with diversion and skynet, but when installing...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

@Martineau and @dave14305 Thank you sirs.....I wasn't particularly concerned as everything is functioning....if anything, it was a check to see if unbound is doing what it's supposed to be and if anyone else had similar entries....thanks as always for the clarity....always a learning opportunity

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Is anyone else getting non-validation errors in the non-verbose log? Doesn't appear to be a big deal...just wondering.... Feb 09 11:23:44 unbound[1049:0] info: validation failure <sigfail.verteiltesysteme.net. AAAA IN>: signature crypto failed from 134.91.78.139 and 134.91.78.141 Feb 09...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

FWIW....installed with CPU tweaks and has been solid since last evening. Thanks @Martineau for a solid product and to all others that dev'd this.....now that I've come to understand some of the (not so finer) points of this, I like the approach.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Anyone care to share their rootcanary results? I know about the deprecation of GOST and DSA but I also have RSA-MD5 not coming through....

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

And I expect the hills are calling your name! (Or at least I hope they are)....haven't been to the alps in far too long....

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Another stupid question for the crowd.....when Martineau updates the installer, do we need to take the path from the Github post and 're-install' or does the installer actually do that as well? (I couldn't tell).. Edit:....seek and ye shall find.....

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Congrats @dave14305 ......I owe whatever trivial knowledge I have on these topics to you....:) Remember, Ottomans had an empire, do that would be my preferred piece of furniture.

@Martineau ....you are bloody awesome.....thank you for all of your hard work...(others as well)

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

So in the minimal conf file Dave, what is the default unbound cache amount set? Is it caching at all?

Heck, I'm just keeping my head down on this one....haha

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

I believe the long story may have something to do with the differences of opinion shown over the last number of pages on this thread.....but I may be wrong and don't want to speak for @dave14305

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Hello all....I'm now quite intrigued and think that the installer is at a sufficiently dumbed down level for a guy like me! :) With that, what flavour of the .conf file are people defaulting to? If anything, that is really the only thing stopping me from plunging for a trial run. Also, on...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

So as @dave14305 mentions, unless the nameservers all accept TLS, how does Unbound having that capability make it better?

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

And so ends another highly insightful tutorial from the wise one @dave14305 ….thanks as always, your help is invaluable.

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

and now showing my supreme stupidity (if I haven't already), is there not a way to encrypt the request to the authoritative nameserver? (or is there even a reason to do so?)

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Thanks as always @dave14305. That makes very good sense. With that though, I presume then that the only value of DoT in this case would be that the nameserver itself accept the TLS handshake and reciprocate in kind for DoT to be allowed. In looking at the link from the previous message, DoT...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Hi all....following this all with interest and trying to make sense of some things. From the above link, it appears that DoT encryption can me made to play nice with Unbound, but I don't think this has been applied to the current install....although I have no (and I mean no) basis on which to...
