Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

New year eve, retested the beta on RT-AC5300, and adding more information to my own post. @ASUSWRT_2020 First, I think @juched also experienced this problem (posted here). Maybe not exactly the same, but they are similar. In scenario 2 below, it also resulted high packet losses. Second...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

9.0.0.4.386.41535 is running fine on RT-AC5300 and RT-68U (node). @ASUSWRT_2020 RT-AC5300 with 9.0.0.4.386.41535 has the same issue I reported previously. Recap: when a device is successfully connected to the guest network 1 (2.4GHz), it disconnects internet for both guest and internet...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Experienced an issue related to device binding icon ... probably caused by Asus router app IOS version (1.0.0.6.2). Here are the steps to reproduce it: 1. bind a device to a node (any node) - you will see a bind icon 2. give it a name under static DNS (not sure if this step is necessary) 3...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Do you have Guest Network 1 (2.4GHz) enabled? If not, will you have time to test it (enable it, get some devices connect to it, then wait a bit to see if the internet gets disconnected)? Hope you can help to confirm the problem I experienced on RT-AC5300. Thanks.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

RT-AC5300, dirty upgraded from B8 to B9. It seems that when IoT devices are connected to the Guest Network 1 (on 2.4GHz), internet connection gets disconnected -- internet status changed to disconnected. Same problem in B7 and B8. @ASUSWRT_2020 Is this a known issue in your bug tracker...

    [Thread-1] [ 386.1_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I re-tested it, and found the disconnected internet issue is likely caused by guest network 1. I've updated my test result in the official firmware 386 RC testing thread. Please follow it there if you are interested / affected. Cheers

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Retested RC8 on RT-AC5300, and I found the problem. When guest network 1 is enabled and once clients are connected to the guest network 1, internet connection will get disconnected. Workaround: use guest network 2 instead. Anyone experiencing the same problem, or just me? If this is really a...

    [Thread-1] [ 386.1_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I'm using RT-AC5300 (main) and RT-AC68U (node). Just tried alpha-3 (also tested beta 7 and 8). All three firmwares have the same issue on the RT-AC5300 -- Received the WAN internet IP address, alpha 3 web admin interface showed the internet status was connected (beta 7 and 8 showed the...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Tested both RC7 and RC8 on a RT-AC5300 (on Verizon FIOS network). Got WAN IP address and internet connection, but the connection only maintained for a short period of time (like a minute). The network map showed Internet Status: Disconnected. Tried: - removed RT-AC68U node; - set DHCP query...
