    [Thread-1] [ 386.1_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I updated from alpha 2 to alpha 4 without problems (on both my routers). Alpha 2 was running very stable for the last weeks and I didn't need to restart my router once, I hope this will be the same for this firmware release... I noticed that the OpenVPN remote IP issue has been fixed too in...

'Cosmetic' OpenVPN client bug: VPN's public IP not updated after changing VPN server (in 384.19 / 386.1)

    This is the reply (this IP should be shown in GUI instead of the one shown in the screenshots): -------------- xxxxxx@RT-AX88U-B230:/tmp/home/root# /usr/sbin/ministun -t 5000 -c 1 -i tun11 stun.l.google.com:19302 45.86.200.29 xxxxxx@RT-AX88U-B230:/tmp/home/root# --------------

'Cosmetic' OpenVPN client bug: VPN's public IP not updated after changing VPN server (in 384.19 / 386.1)

I noticed this 'issue' when I changed the VPN server.. It's not a 'game-stopper' but I thought it is still worth mentioning. When an active VPN client connection is stopped, the VPN server address is changed and the connection is started again, the VPN's public IP address is not updated. The...

    [Thread-1] [ 386.1_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I just wanted to let you know that upgrading from 384.19 to 386.1 alpha 2 went without problems on both my routers (2x RT-AX88U). One is my main router and the the other one is configured as Aimesh. I use it with a VPN client (policy routing enabled), DDNS, DNS filter enabled. For an alpha it...

Asus RT-AX88U configure Wifi6 in mixed environment

Hi Jan, I also live in the Netherlands and I have the same router as you (same output when issueing NVRAM command). Were you able to set your 5GHZ radio to channel 160???? I don't have that option. Ranges are 36-64 and 100-128 (@ 80 MHz)... I though that channel 160 in our region (Europe)...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

This firmware version 384.19 is the most stable firmware I have had on my Asus router. It's running 34 days without *any* issues... :D:D Asus is beta-testing new firmware (386.xxx): maybe better mesh support or support for other/newer VPN protocols could be a reason to upgrade to newer...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

I have 384.19 running for 3 days (and a few hours) and it behaves super stable! No strange entries in the logs, no strange behavior :) I must say that I started with a 'clean' setup from 384.19a3. I updated 'dirty' from a3 to the final release and that went flawless. Thank you Eric for all...

Just installed the beta2 firmware... The OpenVPN DNS leak issue (exclusive DNS with CIDR formatted rule) has been fixed in this release, thank you. For now, everything seems to work fine! :)

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

    >> If you are routing 192.168.2.0/24 to VPN Client 2, then remove the WAN Iface entry in VPN Client 1. The reason for this rule is that I want to be able to connect to my ISP modem, which has address 192.168.2.254 on the WAN. I removed the WAN rule from VPN2 (client range 172.16.2.0/24). I can...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

No, that is not correct: my LAN devices use IP addresses in the 172.16.0.0/24 - 172.16.2.0/24 range: 172.16.0.0/24: clients with an IP address in this subnet are routed directly (NO VPN) 172.16.1.0/24: clients with an IP address in this subnet are routed to VPN #1 172.16.2.0/24: clients with an...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

IPV6 is disabled. Policy routing setup looks like this: In the other VPN client setup I use 172.16.2.0/24 as subnet to route traffic. As already mentioned: Accept DNS configuration is set to 'Exclusive'. Toggling between 'strict' and 'exclusive' doesn't fix the problem (as it did before with...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

I just did a dirty update of my RT-AX88U from a4 to 384.19b1. I noticed 1 issue: I have DNS leaks for traffic routed to my vpn providers (expressvpn and ipvanish). 'Accept dns configuration' is set to exclusive for these vpn clients. I see that dns requests are sent to the dns servers specified...

    setting up OpenVPN client connection

You can use Surfshark with Merlin firmware, I have it working here. Surfshark embeds the CA info in their OVPN files... Regarding the username/password you need: it's not the same username/password account from your Surfshark account! To get your username/password for the VPN connection...

Release [Test] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 - OpenVPN test builds

Happy to read that you can reproduce it! In my environment, the DNS filter mode is already set to 'router', forcing all DNS requests from WAN clients to be redirected to the dns servers set in the WAN section.
