    RT-AC3200 FW .9313 kernel bug

Just saw "scheduling while atomic" bug come up in my syslog. Will post full log when I get back home. There seems to be a problem at DHCP renewal--I've seen a number of resets when DHCP expires, but this is the first time the underlying error made it into the syslog for something concrete...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Well, I bit the bullet and bought one of these when it came up at $399.99 this morning on Amazon for a couple of minutes (just long enough for the scalpers to buy them all up and jack up the price again). I'm in the middle of a signal battle with my hacked-up next door neighbor's wifi: I'm...

    RT-AC3200/ Download problem

On the professional tab, not sure it will make a difference but it's possible since they do affect general throughput and there might be some performance artifact unique to Apple: 1) Enable IGMP snooping 2) Enable Optimize AMPDU aggregation Also, on the main status page look at the "Status" tab...

    RT-AC3200/ Download problem

The Time Capsule allows automatic backup, right? Any chance your MBP is attempting to sync during the test?

    RT-AC3200/ Download problem

So you are connected to the 1st 5GHz radio, not using 2.4GHz to do your test, right? Did you try connecting to the 2nd 5GHz radio to see if results are the same? Did you look at the upload/download bandwidths on the QoS page to see if something else is using bandwidth while you ran the test...

    RT-AC88U

@winb83 That bridge problem is a known issue, and it's not limited to the RT-AC88U, which tends to point towards some software bug. You may have simply got lucky with your RT-AC68R: when I tried this, I had the link stay up for 3 days to a week, or fail within the first 24 hours.

    RT-AC3200 - wireless streaming

I'm trying to figure out what's been going on during the past week with my wireless streaming. Here's some background: Since Monday, I'd been having problems with any sort of wireless video streaming, no matter what the source of the stream was. I also had a good deal of wireless instability...

    RT-AC3200/ Download problem

What advanced features are you using? For example, do you have a USB disk attached? Is QoS configured? What are your settings on your Advanced->Wireless->Professional tab? After you updated to the latest firmware, did you perform a Factory Reset and reconfigure manually (not from any...

    RT-AC3100

If you can set up IPv6, you won't need to turn off the NAT acceleration : IPV6 addresses don't use NAT or UPNP because each device has its own public address. Xbox one prefers to use IPV6 and will immediately go full Open because there is no NAT. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Tuning and optimizing for low latency?

Yes, especially under high traffic, the firewall is a major source of latency. Depending on the features enabled, it can bog down the main cpu, introducing delays in the data path.

AC68 High upload request kill connectivity

In @Guibs case, he was not suffering from bufferbloat, not from his initial setup he was asking about at least. The only bufferbloat we as customers of an ISP can do something about is bufferbloat from our own router. Bufferbloat is an artifact of QoS, and since he did not have QoS turned on...

AC68 High upload request kill connectivity

How would he be seeing buffer bloat? @Guibs said he only configured the most basic settings, which I think suggests he has not enabled QoS at all.

AC68 High upload request kill connectivity

Step 1 should be to turn on QoS. You should input the values returned by Speedtest as the upload and download bandwidths. That will help stop one client from hogging your connection's limited bandwidth. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    RT-AC88U

@skypx RSSI of -43dB on 5GHz through the floor is excellent. Line of sight, 15 feet away, my typical is -63dB RSSI on my AC3200. The strength of that signal has got to be helping with the speed.

Remote desktop doesn't work with Asus RT-AC68U router

@LordVader Windows on your monitor-less desktop saw your new router and immediately flagged it as a public network by default because the MAC address changed. There's not much you can do about that without a monitor. It's not the fault of your new router or a bug in Windows: that's how it...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Not surprised that the Nest gave you some difficulties. If you really like Smart Connect, couldn't you just make a guest network to connect them and leave your private SSIDS all set the same? It's a little ironic that Google owns Nest and their OnHub will not even let you assign separate SSIDS...

    [Official] RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9313

So if you reflash your old firmware the problem goes away? Did you do a factory reset after updating and reconfigure 100% manually (no config file)?
