    Best solution to have the backup nas recoverable/failure resistant

    Even simpler I bet if we did a survey and asked people if they had spare, identical drives sitting on the shelf for their NAS, in case of drive failure, at least 25% would have to say NO.

    RAID 6 will give you better availability, in case of drive failure(s) in the NAS. Remember, if one drive in a RAID 5 array fails, all of a sudden the array is now operating as RAID 0. Scary thought, especially when you replace the bad drive and push the NAS to harsh duty during the rebuild...

    Thecus N2310 SOHO / Home NAS Server Reviewed

    I have one Hi Steve, Like Tim, I was very impressed by the throughput of the N2310. It smokes the Marvell-based models, IMHO. Yet, as you point out, it is light on features. That's OK by me, personally I don't use a tenth of the features that are available on my QNAP.

    10GbE Testing

    Anyone have experience benchmarking 10GbE switches? I'm having trouble finding a test program/suite that can handle 10GbE bandwidth. Most of them are under-reporting. TIA.
