    LaCie Ethernet Big Disk problem

I'd like to ask the NAS experts (you, tim specifically <3 since you'd most likely know), what is happening with my Lacie. I own four of these beasts. Two 1TB ones and two 2TB ones. I have them because they're cheap for what they offer and I can't afford to get anything better/more reliable...

HELP! How to salvage data from a failed RAID1 setup (Hammer MyShare)

Huh? My data's fine, I'm only talking about the NAS enclosure housing it. There's at least two ways that I could extract the data without paying for data recovery if the Lacie happened to cark it again.

HELP! How to salvage data from a failed RAID1 setup (Hammer MyShare)

Ok, well here's my positively weird update with my situation. I contacted Lacie, and they didn't want to send a replacement chassis, basically they don't care about their customers' data. Hopeless. So I procrastinated the job, life got busy and I left left the poor, cold metal box sitting on...

HELP! How to salvage data from a failed RAID1 setup (Hammer MyShare)

The power supply infamously died and then the unit's connection panel/circuit board seems to have gotten damaged as a result. I think Lacie's policy is pretty much the same - if I open the chassis the warranty is voided...

How To Build a Really Fast NAS - Part 1: Introduction

Look forward to the next parts of this saga Tim! I really regret chucking out an old Desktop PC I had lying around, I probably could have used it (for a server I run as well!). I had no monitor (and not much room) for it though, that's why I binned it.

What has Draft 11n done for (to) you?

After some excellent advice from mr. higgins, I went gigabit rather than wireless-n mainly because I was really looking for sheer speed and reliability than anything. And it's definitely paid off, I think I'll wait till the next 802.11.x until it's worth my time, but 10G will be common by then...
