    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

I think I'll have to take that back. The iPad Air 2 does seem to be suffering. Need to watch for a few days to be sure.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, after about 12 hours of just the router showing the error, now BOTH AP and router have the same error repeating in the log. Still no apparent ill effects but can't say for sure.

ASUS RT-AC68 but not sufficient wireless what to do?

Not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by "both Asus in router mode" AND "2nd Asus in AP mode"? I have one Asus in router mode and the 2nd in AP Mode connected to the first by wire (from the WAN port of the AP to a LAN port on the router), if that is what you are asking.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

I think I linked to a couple of threads on it here. Many have seen it since IOS 9. The iPad Air disconnects and this problem may, or may not, be linked. Of course there may be other pre-requisites too. I have an AP and router. That might too be linked. The symptoms are an endless stream of...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Yeah, the iPad Air 2 disconnects here too. I should have been clear. When I said 5Ghz hasn't crashed I meant literally that - radio goes off the air and router needs a reboot, that was what was happening on Merlin .55 and .54. It's a bit early to say as sometimes it could take 2-3 days for the...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Haven't tried beamforming, but all seems good here too apart from the frequent, but possibly inconsequential, errors in the log. 5Ghz has not crashed yet, unlike with 378.54 and .55. Very happy so far! No evident battery drain on iDevices. We have just about everything except, obviously, the...

ASUS RT-AC68 but not sufficient wireless what to do?

They will if they would have to switch networks, but if it's the same SSID they know it's the same network and they can more intelligently switch to the best/strongest radio. Not all devices are incredibly clever, it's true. Our many generations of iDevices and laptops sometimes hang on a little...

ASUS RT-AC68 but not sufficient wireless what to do?

I have 2 identical Asus routers, one in router mode, one in AP mode and it works fantastically (apart from ongoing struggles with the Quantenna 5Ghz chip, which won't affect you!). Personally I far prefer using the same SSID for all networks - both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, router and AP, with roaming...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Trivial thing now. Surely the 5Ghz "noise" info is wrong in the wireless log. It looks more like it is the instantaneous RSSI from one of the devices at the point it's taken. My "noise" varies from -40dBm to -65dBm, which is pretty noisy!

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Hey Asus, Can you explain why you still enable the setup of a Guest Network in AP Mode, when it is not a real Guest Network? Unlike in Router Mode, devices which connect to an AP's Guest Network have full visibility of all the main network resources. It seems to be no more than an alternate...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

In my case, where I was only seeing this on my ac87u (connected to my ac87u router), it turned out to be a PEBKAC! :D. I had manually assigned the IP address for my AP and had configured the gateway, but had not bothered to configure the DNS Server IP address on the AP. Thing is I don't think I...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

What exactly is not working? I have configured it fine, but admit I haven't checked all features work as advertised!

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Yeah, clearly it's a change to the way the IPad Air 2 works with IOS9. What I mean is it doesn't seem to be affecting all routers/APs, or I think there would be more reports on Apple's own forums, or at least somewhere. The change appears to be affecting Quantenna uniquely, which should not be...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

How odd. I won't pretend to understand why it's just my AP. I've rebooted it of course and it just keeps on throwing errors, although it doesn't *seem* to be causing any problems. Both AP and router can see all the same devices.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Yep, figured. And, yes, I see exactly the same. I have wondered what if it's an Apple bug, but there are no reports on their forums so I'm inclined to think it's another Quantenna snafu!

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

My iPad Air 2 stayed on 5Ghz for 7hrs overnight while on charge. Looks like it (probably unsurprisingly) is a problem specific to a low power state. It's clearly not right though, because I cannot believe that reestablishing itself on the network every 3 mins could possibly save battery life!

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Fax, is this on a router or AP/Bridge? I ask because I only see this on my AP although both ac87s are part of the same network, hard-wired to each other, which would seem to eliminate a problem with iTunes or other Bonjour-using app on the LAN. Maybe it's just about in how AP mode is...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Same here, but just on my AP. Started one hour after it was upgraded and 20 hrs later they still appear, sometimes only a few mins apart, sometimes more than an hour. As sfx says, it's part of Apple's Bonjour services. But not found the cause yet.

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

Yeah mate. Thanks for the thought, but tried forgetting and resetting the network. All the testing I did is pretty much spelt out in the "5ghz drops" thread. But also there are others seeing specific problems with the Air2 too. Might be to do with whatever changes they made for 2x2. The...

    [Beta] RT-AC87U 9.0.0.4.378.9110

There is still a problem with specifically the iPad Air 2 that may be new to IOS9/9.0.1. Unlike iPhone 6, 5, 5s, iPad 2, iPad Mini and Mini 2, it disconnects from 5ghz after a minute or so - Tx speed drops to single figures, then device drops off network, then it joins again about 1min later and...
