RT-AC88U - Getting best download speed on 1.5 gigabit connection

I would recommend posting on DSLReport in the Bell Direct forum. They're really good there and will probably send a tech out to move you to another splitter that's less busy.

RT-AC88U - Getting best download speed on 1.5 gigabit connection

I have a similar setup with. I have Bell 940/940 using the TP-Link media converter connected to my ac87. During peak times I can drop down to 7xx-8xxMbps speeds. It could be you're on a split with alot of heavy users. Are your speeds always that low or only during certain times?

Router not letting Wi-Fi Calling through

I read that from iOS 11 apple allows carriers to decide if they want to prioritize wifi calling or cellular calls. On my carrier here they prioritize wifi calling. One way to test for sure is to go into airplane more and that will automatically put it in wifi calling if enabled.

Router not letting Wi-Fi Calling through

I'll keep an eye out for that. We live in an area with good cell phone reception so its not a huge deal. But would be nice to have none the less.

Router not letting Wi-Fi Calling through

I've run into a similar problem. I'm running an 87u with Bell as well. WiFi calling doesn't work unless I turn off NAT Acceleration which defeats the purpose of having gigabit internet. Is there any way to get wifi calling working?

Interested, currently using DNSCrypt to connect to 1.1.1.1 with DoH but this looks very interesting.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Update is working great on 87u, 56u and 3100. NEW: Added USB HID modules (for use with devices such as UPS) Does this mean we'll be able to control a UPS via the router?

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Ping seems to be fine for me usually bellow 15ms. I do get some of those errors from time to time but doesn't seem to cause any issues with web browsing etc.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Pidof just tells you that the process is running and returns the process id. It doesn't actually test the connection. You have to run ./dnscrypt-proxy -resolve cloudflare-dns.com inside the /jffs/dnscrypt/ folder

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Yup the Port forwarding seems to be correct. If I manually set my devices dns to my routers address everything works. But on auto they get set to 1.1.1.1 for some reason. IPv6 seems to configure correctly

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Okay it looks like its working thanks! One thing I noticed since I started using dnscrypt on my devices it seems to be defaulting the dns server to 1.1.1.1 instead of my modem. Do I need to manually set the DNS server to the router on all the devices? I was under the impression that on auto...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I've setup dnscrypt with 1.1.1.1 and its IPv6 address. The asus setting page has no DNS addresses listed and everything seems to be working. How do I check to make sure that DoH is working?

    Ping fluctuating wildly

Actually it looks like the strange ping only happens if the device is in sleep mode. Once I wake it the ping returns to normal.

    Ping fluctuating wildly

I'm currently running a AC87u on 384.4 all these device are connected on 5GHz. I'm in a condo so there is a little bit more congestion than normal. Google Home(furthest from router 15 meters max) gets the best ping times Reply from 192.168.2.5: bytes=32 time=35ms TTL=64 Reply from 192.168.2.5...

    New AC3100 more problems

So I ended up exchanging the unit and the new one was doing the same thing. I tried different plugs and didn't change anything. So when I got the router I put it in a temporary location on tip of a bunch of transformers which give off quite a bit of heat. Turns out it seems like the router was...
