    YazFi YazFi v4.x - continued

Does YazFi work correctly w/o using the Merlin DHCP server? Using my PiHole as a DCHP server as well for a few reasons and wanted to understand that - and if there is a way to use YazFi w/o the alternate subnet (but guessing that is how much if it's features function).

Trigger Guest WiFi via 'Smart' Button?

Wow, didn't expect so many great responses so quickly! The Asus Alexa skill does look like it does what I would want - but it doesn't seem to work on the ac86u, which is what I have. Also, I'm a bit concerned there's some exposure of the router there from a security perspective that I'm not...

Trigger Guest WiFi via 'Smart' Button?

Ok, this is a bit of an oddball request but...bear with me. Is there a way to send a command to Merlin to turn on guest wifi for a period of time through some kind of command/trigger? I dislike having my guest wifi on all the time, but I always forget to turn it on when we do have guests...

RT-AC86U - Oddball issue re: can't ping a device from anything except router

I'm having a really weird situation. Basically, I have a Pi connected via WiFi to my AC86U. Internet works fine. I cannot, however, connect to it as a share (it's a RetroPie setup) or SSH or ping it from my main PC (wired to router). If I try to ping the Pi from my phone (android) connected...

Redirect hardcoded DNS on stock firmware?

Does anyone know if there is a way to redirect hardcoded DNS requests to a PiHole or similar when on stock firmware? I know you can force a script to run manually to do some of the IPtables scripts, but unless its auto run it seems like half a solution.

Stock ASUS Firmware & Webcam blocked over internet, available via VPN?

Wouldn't using the Network Services Filter do the same thing as the parental controls? I thought they were equivalent - just a once click vs. customizable.

Stock ASUS Firmware & Webcam blocked over internet, available via VPN?

So, I need to use stock ASUSWRT because I'm using AiMesh and am trying to figure out how to do the following: Block the cameras I have in my house from accessing the internet/sending information anywhere Be able to access the cameras via the VPN Do this on stock since I use AiMesh So...I can...

Asus Router app and "unintentional" activation of remote access to router

So, after having the app on I've run a few port scans to check and it appears that remote access hasn't been enabled (as far as I can tell). One thing that WAS interesting to me that I didn't realize when setting things up is turning on SSH defaults to SSH accessible via the WAN - and there is...

Asus Router app and "unintentional" activation of remote access to router

Ok. In that case, no it's definitely not available. Wasn't sure if I needed a special port included or anything to access. So...it seems to be working "securely" now but...who knows. Once I get everything setup (just installed the router yesterday) I'll prob. delete the app to make sure...

Asus Router app and "unintentional" activation of remote access to router

Hrm. So directly attempt access from a web browser? Any special way to do so? Want to confirm it's secure. To be clear, on the configuration page Access GUI via WAN was off on mine and the app wouldn't connect if on a remote (i.e., mobile) network.

Asus Router app and "unintentional" activation of remote access to router

Just installed the app (Android). Got the warning, declined the remote access feature, and it didn't turn on access via WAN - at least not visibly through the GUI. This is on stock firmware (3.0.0.4.384_21140) and app version 1.0.0.3.46. Also, when I disconnect from WiFi on my phone, the app...
