    Plex client is on a SAMSUNG MU9000 SmartTV. Synology NAS DS918+ I haven't tried out the 3rd question... (Does it do the same if your setup the synology's media station app and put the media station app on your client?) *I will give it a shot and install media station app and do some testing...
