Btw John, when I restored settings in order to fix openvpn, it also restored https and a similar error to the process not responding was showing up in the log regarding httpd and ssl. I added the router's IP but it still continued.. EDIT: Again restored to reproduce the issue, the error...

I think I may have screwed up configuring the ovpn server... After a reset to factory, is there a way for the server to accept the previously used client.ovpn file? I had the client ovpn file from the previous config, and I (maybe foolishly) copied over the certs and keys from that file to the...

and John, any reason the enable wireless scheduler is default on with all days checked? Doesn't it mean one more process running for no reason?

Btw I noticed a language error on the config page that opens after a factory reset (yeah we still have those :D), it says "back main page" in the top left box. Also, will a change of default behavior for wps button to toggle wifi be against user friendliness? We do know wps shouldn't b left...

Nope accessing it only via one pc, even got a administration access limit set to 3 clients only and those clients are all off except one from which i am accessing the admin page.. and never enabled web access for any service (kind of a security freak, me). Some additional details...

John I keep seeing this line in the log frequently, is this some bug or what? watchdog: restart httpd, error detected or process not responding (52)

Reset and mixed results, i believe the late connection to wan is an isp issue since now sometimes it will connect quickly, other times not.

It's quite weird... after I posted here I again upgraded to e4 and enabled dnscrypt (same dnscrypt.eu with dnssec servers) and now dnsbench works happily. The long time to bring wan up remains though.. around 3:50 after a reboot. There used to be no delay whatsoever with v20. EDIT: Will a reset...

Also, it takes over 4 minutes for wan to come up after a reboot or if i reboot the modem...this really didn't happen with v20xx :(, the wan light comes on as usual after after a really short time. All this is with dnscrypt off (with failing dns queries and the dnsbench result I switched it off)...

I do have dnscrypt enabled. Strict enforcement is disabled, no dns filter on the system, no dns servers on the lan page as well. The dnscrypt servers I am using are 'dnscrypt.eu with dnssec' servers (after i clarified another issue with you a few days back). I got no other symptoms other than...

I don't know if this is a bug or what but dnsbench says this when I try to run the benchmark. This only happens on 22e4, rolled back to 22e2 and it runs normally.

I pointed it out because on prev versions, any changes on this page resulted in 20% increments...guessing this change is because of dnscrypt. No dual wan here and redirect setting is never which is default I believe. How about a full soft reboot for changes? I think it takes the same amount of...

Thanks for clearing that up! Btw I have noticed some bugginess in bringing up wan (or wan up detection) whenever i hit apply after making changes to dns config. Now i do not know if this behavior is restricted to the n66u or my wan type (dhcp) or if this has been reported before but below are...

John I noticed there's only one opendns server in the list for dnscrypt (the second one is with family filter which is again singular)... is this by design? Shouldn't there be a fallback server? Secondly, if there are dns servers filled in in the 'connect to dns automatically' (set to no) boxes...

Hey John, I was trying out dnscrypt and enabled it in the settings, with resolver1 and 2 to adguard but the adguard website still says I am not using it. Also filled in the dns entries for adguard, rebooted (router and pc) but still their website says I am not using their service. Drawing a...

Painless upgrade on the n66u as usual. Working well. I also simplified my home network and don't need the media server or an extra 5ghz guest network for my dumb smart sony tv which sees the same ssid twice for the two bands. Didn't know adding an old laptop to my home theater setup could solve...

Hey John, is there a way to save the ssl certificate that the router generates to a trusted certificate equivalent on linux (ubuntu mate)? I've searched around a lot but can't get to a definite solution. Firefox does store an exception but there's no such workaround on chrome. Trusted...

Seems to have been a fluke or maybe the rebuild or cleaning the log file helped it some. It did happen twice though.
