Ran into a bit of a problem... I enabled the setting for logged packets to dropped under firewall settings and now the GUI won't show up on any computer be it on wifi or wired. It just says establishing secure connection on the bottom of chrome and then nothing. EDIT: The gui now just opened...

Just want to report that the isp has hidden port 80. Now I have all green stealth ports. If only i had checked it a while back..i remember I did try some time back on the grc website but the test wasn't able to run. Can't help but feel a bit paranoid about all the time the port was left open...

Thanks for checking. I am in the process of troubleshooting it with my isp. It's a possibility that their ad injection (which i made them switch off on my connection) activities have something to do with this.

Yep I tried that but all i get is a refused to connect error on chrome and server stopped responding on safari. Actually I had confirmed it from the ISP's technical backend whether they do traffic shaping activities on the connection and they denied it. I haven't seen any evidence of this as...

Can't even get it to close even if I forward the port to a non existent local IP.

Hmmm... disabled vpn but still shows open. Double checked all wan access settings all are disabled. I have a ftth setup with an ericsson modem. From what I can see on it, model should be T063G (II). KDU 137 609/1 R1A is also mentioned on it but not sure if that is a model number. Looks exactly...

I just ran into this same 'issue' with many devices on and was about to post about this again. :)

Hi John, I just ran a port scan test on GRC and it shows my port 80 as open for some reason. UPnP is enabled and I have one laptop only switched on at the time (smart TV off but smartphones on and connected to wifi). I have not updated to the latest release yet. Any way I can know why this port...

Ah I can see there could be trouble in countries where they don't have switches with power sockets. EDIT: I can see I was the cause of some off topic stuff here. Apologies @john9527.

Funny thing is in the short time between finding the router dead and fixing it, i was beginning to have grim thoughts of an RMA and asus loading up their latest official release which would have prevented me using @john9527 's fork :P

Thanks :D They really shouldn't be used.. Just another failure point. Seems it just spontaneously gave up and flung outward at some point during the night. I probably used it just once during its lifetime. Hopefully stuck in the fully depressed position isn't going to damage something else..

Well today my n66u has just completely shut down. No lights anywhere on the router or the hdds.. No changes made recently to the software. The blue light on the power brick is on and stays on for quite a while after being disconnected. Anyone else had this happen?! Its slightly more than 2...

@john9527 Got it to work using TCP instead of UDP!! Performance is much better overall as well. :D :D EDIT: Editing this instead of adding another post, I am noticing that the nvram usage is fluctuating by a few bytes without me changing anything in the settings.. is this normal? I haven't set...

Connecting to the openvpn server on my n66u from an iphone over 3G/4G LTE using the openvpn app. :) I found a couple of threads with probably the same issue like this one below but with deads ends- https://forums.openvpn.net/viewtopic.php?t=19817 Edit: whats weird is the openvpn connection...

Upgraded from 17e5 to 18e1! Looks like another mighty fine upgrade. My wariness to upgrade from 17e5 was probably unwarranted. Hopefully its as reliable for my aging n66u..never gonna let go of it because of this firmware :D EDIT: i should also probably be getting a power supply for it.. the...
