Asus RT-AC1900 using Netgear Nighthawk M1 TTL bypass issues

Well, does it? What happens if you "cd /jffs/scripts"? If that fails maybe you need to to try "Format JFFS partition at next boot".

Check which process is spinning up the SSD - RT-AC66U_B1

Am I missing something here? It's an SSD - no spin-up/spin-down. The hibernation accomplishes nothing significant. You are not saving anything since the current keeping the SSD controller awake is constant. Just turn that setting off.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

A suggestion for a future update. Somewhere convenient on the Skynet Statisics, it would be useful if it said "Since {date/time of last reset}". That would help put the counts in perspective.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Are some stats cumulative over a longer period? Some seem to be reset daily.

Setup a new AC68U as AiMesh node

I run a script every 30 min on my nodes to send the CPU and radio temps back to the router's syslog.

    They're for it, right?

What can we do to protect people from access via WAN?

This unknown "day-zero vulnerability" won't be stopped by me having to repeatedly enable/disable ssh through the GUI. It would capture my Webgui password and enable ssh on its own. After all, it would have to have my login/password before it could do anything via ssh. I'm not going to worry...

What can we do to protect people from access via WAN?

I don't run with ssh completely disabled - I'm logging in many times a day. I leave it set to LAN only. So any attacker would need to be physically present at/near my home. Someone attacking via wifi would need two passwords and guess my root user id. I think I can live with that.

What can we do to protect people from access via WAN?

No, I'm just a Darwinian. I think of it as fine-tuning the gene pool. People who depend on any technology (be it a bicycle, an auto, a computer, and especially the internet) need to take responsibility to learn and understand the risks - and how to mitigate them.

What can we do to protect people from access via WAN?

I think of them as "low hanging fruit". The more of them there are, the less chance a determined hacker will spend time trying to get into my "protected" router using some new vulnerability.

RT-AC68U openvpn not connecting after update to 384.15

The call was "perfect", except for 2 words. ;)

    [RT-AC88U] WLCEVENTD 401 420 449

That client is having connectivity problems. What is that client's RSSI in the wirelesslog? I believe that wl0.2 is your 2nd 2.4GHz Guest SSID? I'm not sure of the 88U interface mapping. Assuming its 2.4, what is your 2.4 GHz Roaming Assistant setting? Also turn off Universal Beamforming and...

    AT-AC86U Core 0 is Missing

Seems like a reboot after "experimenting" would be in order before sending up flares.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20253

I suspect the fix is in the closed source binaries.

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20253

More importantly, when will there be a Merlin release with this CVE fixed?

A couple of clarifying questions before I take down my network ...

RANGE CONTROL: On the 68U (AC1900) the Tx Power adjustment slider is in the "Professional" tab for 2.4 and 5 GHz. Four power settings from Energy Saving to Performance. I don't know if it is functional or just smoke-n-mirrors.

    Internet Provider Throttling

I have Spectrum (formerly Brighthouse) 100 Mbps service. I routinely get over 110 Mbps. A couple yrs ago I started noticing intermittent d/l speeds of only ~33Mbps. It would be fine some times then down to about 1/3 the expected speed. I had previously replaced their modem twice with no effect...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

How does pixelserv get disabled? It seems mine was too, but it seemed to be running previously.

    More than 3 Guest Networks?

I think it's a luxury to have more than one. However, whatever the number, it needs to be bounded since NVRAM is very limited. Each "virual" guest SSID needs additional settings and could consume over 1K bytes. For example, one of my 2.4 Guests is mapped to interface w10.1. Running the ssh...

    AC68U A2 vs AC66U B1

Really. I thought the only banned speech was pertaining to flashing ASUS or Merlin to certain other hardware. OC'ing has nothing to do with that.
