    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

*** This is old news won't work anymore *** *** BETA ANNOUNCEMENT *** I have updated my script to support dnscrypt-proxy version 2. All changes are here https://github.com/thuantran/dnscrypt-asuswrt-installer/commits/dnscrypt-proxy-v2 from "Start to work on v2" commit. Install dnscrypt-proxy...

    DNSCrypt is reborn!

The problem is the new dnscrypt-proxy is still in beta and development moving is rather fast there. Writing a tutorial or updating my own script to support the new version was not a good idea until just now. I'm working on updating my installer script. For the tutorial I'm sure some of the more...

    DNSCrypt is reborn!

Link fixed in the installer. The timeout you said is likely for query timeout.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

ignore timestamp has been implemented in beta8, so it's nearly enough for all the stuffs we need. I am starting to work on it. I will be supporting ARMv7 router first as that's the only router I use. Also I'm gonna work on this on my free time, please don't ask for an ETA. P.S. I checked the...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

The installer link will stay the same. I will move the current branch to dnscrypt-proxy-v1 branch as I start to work on the new version.

    DNSCrypt is reborn!

The OpenDNS IP updater is a modular feature so don't worry, it has nothing to do with v2 of dnscrypt-proxy.

    DNSCrypt is reborn!

I will check on this and if it's good to integrate into my script, I will. Obviously a lot of the features will be changed to reflect the new stuffs from version 2. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/release-dnscrypt-installer-for-asuswrt.36071/page-18#post-374146

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Wow a lot of discussions here, as usual with many, I have been busy with stuffs thus the silence. Putting that aside, there are some tidbits about dnscrypt-proxy v2 from me: - version 2 has gone to beta phase and I have been using it on my router, an AC56U, for a while and working well, simply...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Basically the let's encrypt feature masks the public IP of your domain with the private IP of your router. This is so you can use the hostname for the https cert with LAN access to the WebUI (I rather not enable WAN access to the webui just so I can access my router webui without a security...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Just need to delete this folder /jffs/cert then reboot. I will fix this in a day or two.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Basically if you use router dns caching server on your network (using dnscrypt force you to do this) with dynamic dns, this option helps: 1. Reduce the boot time as the router does not need to generate the self signed certificate at boot. 2. Let you have an actual https connection to your...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Well it's a function I built into this script to replace the self signed cert our routers generate with let's encrypt valid certificate as well as adding a static hostname inside dnsmasq for the public domain so that we can access the webui with hostname from the internal network with a green...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

@eclp it looks like you're thinking something is wrong but it's mainly because of your specific setup, you're actually using a VPN or some kind of proxy that causes these issues/side effects, these have nothing to do with with this script.

[ISSUE][RT-AC56U][380.66] HTTPS webui unable to load and bootloop after factory reset

OK we can consider this issue a side effect of too many security exceptions for router IP. I had to reset my firefox installation to fix it though. It seems to cough up with too many exceptions for the old kind of cert the router used to make compared to the new one.

[ISSUE][RT-AC56U][380.66] HTTPS webui unable to load and bootloop after factory reset

Worked around it, using self sign cert from 380.65_4 works with 380.66. acme.sh works really nicely on our router still I rather ssh to my router then remote control my router webui through tunnel without exposing the webui to wan so I keep using self signed cert from version 380.65_4 with...

[ISSUE][RT-AC56U][380.66] HTTPS webui unable to load and bootloop after factory reset

I have tried EMF on IPTV page without bridge snooping but that didn't snoop any packet for my config thus I was having multicast storm in my network, still my config is not vanilla. I use services-start script to set LAN ports to provide: 1 - internet untagged - iptv tagged trunked to a managed...

[ISSUE][RT-AC56U][380.66] HTTPS webui unable to load and bootloop after factory reset

@thelonelycoder didn't work for me. @RMerlin, I tried flashing new CFE 1.0.2.9 from 1.0.2.7 and the reboot loop now seems gone. In any case, the issue with https is still the same, even after I factory reset and only set a new password, switching to https causes the issue without anything...

I haven't tried that, but as I've lost an entire morning for this let do this later.
