[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I dunno maybe a stray configuration because I'm pretty sure have used that on 380.63_2 fine. In any case, it doesn't matter now, I switched to using tr with variable expansion in my script.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I'm sure as I do not have it installed through entware and this command was available in the last firmware.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I'd like to look at why it didn't work but you formatted it :D. The beta code was kind of a mess as I was in a rush to make it compatible with AB-Solution but I have made code to handle these, dunno why it didn't work. BTW which router model are you using?

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Check my first post again. I added a section about checking if this works. @eclp and @RacerRon , one thing to note, please remember to restart the router after installation. If you haven't, it still uses your current configuration. If it still doesn't work, I will ask for further details (it's...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Thanks to @john9527's help, I was able to do the same thing he does with starting dnscrypt-proxy right at boot so you no longer have some stray DNS resolves at router start up. I finally put this script into release status. Changes from previous announcement: - Fix problem with xargs was...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I'm having problem with nano and putty with terminal type any other vt100 I have tried. This does not happen on previous 380.63_2. This is the error Error opening terminal: putty-256color. xargs was removed as well. I use it in one of my scripts and I need to find other way.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Has been on vacation for a few days and look at what we have here. Getting back to this tomorrow as it still better to complete my original script :D.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

As I said for privacy VPN services only give you a false sense of ataraxia. Still to answer your question, there's nothing to configure for you in this case. What I meant is even if you use this, there's still a very short window of 1 or 2 secs at boot up just after your internet connection has...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Looks like I'll be out of business soon then. I've already started working on ability to select DNS server during installation so I hope that'll be of some use for you.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

There's no such thing as privacy even with a vpn connection. It's like you're walking outside with a mask on, people will still see you one way or another. I made this mainly to setup a more reliable DNS and without censorship for my use. Still to answer your questions, it does work with ab...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

It's great to have you here. As a firmware dev, I have some questions for you regarding this. Do you think we can put these binaries I made into asuswrt forked firmwares like yours and merlin's? Personally I like to have these in firmware with nice UI instead of having to tinker around with...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

No, it will update automatically after every new wan connection established, as that's my plan. For my PPPoE connection that means every time I lost connection to ISP and reconnect. I don't know about those on cables in the US with DHCP connection, would appreciate a test but I do have an idea...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

@RacerRon it does as it hooks to wan-start.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Thanks for the info, even if your IP hasn't changed you can check your router log to see if it's working or not. For example, a complete log showing the script is working here: Dec 4 14:33:09 admin: OpenDNS: Update IP succeeded Dec 4 14:33:09 admin: dnscrypt-proxy started Dec 4 14:33:10...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

MIPSEL support added but I can't test this as I don't have a router with MIPSEL chipset, appreciate if someone can test this and tell me the result.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Well lots of changes have been made internally. Externally now it does not quit after a single wrong input during prompts and you can also select to redirect all your DNS queries on your network to go through dnscrypt regardless of client config.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I can understand that without even looking at your code that's why it's in my TODO originally and this is BETA as I said before. In any case, as you pushed it rather hard, I've done it https://github.com/thuantran/dnscrypt-asuswrt-installer/commit/dc94c7229445c49f07a5a11e3c774c71dfbf6ba2

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I know because I made this for these non technical users specifically. This is why it's in TODO and the thing is BETA now. Will work on this first. This release is meant for those that can live with BETA as I want to know that at least for the current feature set, it does work.
