[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi Are you aware of anything that could happen to the router that suddenly (without manual change) makes a streaming service think I am in another country? My ip is the usual German one, and if I connect directly to the modem I can access the streaming service. But through the router not anymore.

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

Are those people really called engineers? Here we call them technicians. And I mean no offense, but I am an engineer, and feel offended by labeling engineer a person with no academic engineering education AND associated to many anecdotes like the one below :) Of course there are also...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

I suggest you provide the log, because at least John could tell that my crappy rebooting modem was doing a weird double WAN restart, and that could help understanding the issue.

    DDNS custom script

Yes, thanks everybody, I just need to figure out how to use in RAM variables and I should be fine. Perhaps the link on first response had an example of that.

    DDNS custom script

Is the watchdog able to recognize the change of public ip? Because the asus wan stays always on 192.168.0.10 in my case.

    DDNS custom script

Ok, thanks, that is what I thought. But then, in the wiki there are examples for custom scripts to be used with double NAT (actually with duckdns I don't need to find the ip in advance), but normally in those situations the internal wan doesn't change. So isn't the ddns-start kinda useless...

    DDNS custom script

I also wanted to know what "Forced refresh interval (in days)" does. Is that just a safeguard so a DNS association to a fixed IP won't expire? If that is the case, it implies that the script would not send an update in case there is no IP change, but that means that it takes the WAN IP into...

    DDNS custom script

Yes, I saw some solutions, but the procedure I posted is based on the one from Merlin's wiki, and if that is exactly the proper solution for my specific problem, I would prefer to stick to what the router FW recommends :) Germany, Unitymedia cable 120mbit. I needed over one year for them to...

    DDNS custom script

Hi, My malfunctioning ISP modem just got replaced by their horrible connect box router. I think it doesn't work in bridge mode, so I have NAT behind NAT for my N66. So my asus ddns now gets the internal ip and the vpn server is not reachable anymore. Just to be sure I understood my options. I...

    Exactly the same for me.

If a client is not patched there's nothing we can do to prevent man in the middle, right?

Price drop is good, but since the vpn fix from nordvpn, the n66u became a no maintenance device, completely covering my house. Since I am using it as wifi router, tell us more about that mail exchange ;)

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Sounds more like a v29 :) Anyway let's see if the fix is a closed binary or something John can use separately.

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

I believe so. Sad that we don't know what :)

As of now, it definitely is probably the best choice for such router. The future is uncertain regarding the wpa2 vulnerability and how asus is going to fix it. Worst case, no fix can be applied using the old wifi drivers that give us such great improvements.

That might have been what the equifax engineer thought about that Apache security update :)

If it needs a wifi binary update (as it makes sense), it might be the end of this fork if it's all bundled together with the old wifi drivers we love :(

I think what he is doing is taking a particular channel by brute force, so the others change to another one and somehow his clients have a cleaner spectrum. It is not much about signal strength between clients and router. In theory might make sense, and the fact that it seems to work this way...
