If you use it as repeater, you might want to turn it off when you go to bed and don't access that part of the house. I am not doing it, but I know people who do.

The following custom values seemed to be working with the fix you suggested. I see indeed persist-key missing, but persist-tun is there. Is it supposed to be correct? I cannot remember if this is the nordvpn default or the result of playing around with some suggestion from you and Merlin...

@john9527 please consider introducing the openvpn fix you made me try in jffs in next version. The broken button made me reboot, but I was on a long run without noticing the disconnections anymore. Btw, after reboot my vpn client was off although I selected connect with wan.

I could do this as well. At least more likely than soldering.

Hey thanks, your suggestion indirectly worked :D I was ready with a number of tapes to stick any kind of object to keep it down, but the cocktail tip was inviting. At the second try to stick it in, the button just clicked and didn't come back up at all. I don't know how long it'll last, but for...

Doom. N66U went dark. I found out the power button doesn't stay down anymore (barely used it overall, and last time was months ago). Anybody experienced that and knows a way to fix it?

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

Maybe you got it. Several days without disconnection. Or at least without the permanent vpn client down I used to get at some point. I think it would be nice if someone else currently having the issue would try the suggestion at the bottom.

"It didn't work" would have been more appropriate.

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

trying this. perhaps I can try an old version of the FW with 2.3 afterwards, just to put a stamp on the culprit :) I am afraid the reason I updated at the time was the missing watchdog fix that restored connectivity after my stupid modem reboots.

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

Crazy thought: would it be a lot of work to just release a version with openvpn 2.3 to prove that's the reason? And for me to stay on that and have vpn working :p @john9527?

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

I understand about the 2.3 client. In my case I have the satellite receiver behind router vpn, and it goes always down, within 1 to 5 days. The openvpn for Android is on my fire tv stick, again always on, and I never found it down.

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

Do you think other clients like openvpn for Android have some specific mechanism to recover immediately from this auth issue (since they also renegotiate every hour but I never noticed the connectivity loss i have on the router)?

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Do you think I didn't try that? I got to a frustration point with support where the only way out is the way out :) However price/performance of internet connection makes it worth living with the other issue, since we do not receive that many calls. The thing is, the router was dealing fine...

Indeed my wife said that yesterday seemed intermittent, while for me today was straight to offline from the phone. The cause is my crappy isp modem that reboots most of the times I accept an incoming call... I'll get the log next time. Is there a way to change log verbosity? Just curious.

@john9527 Regression. With this version when my modem reboots, the router stops providing internet to the clients, although they don't notice it. In the past I think you fixed it with intensive work on wan watchdog.

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

Wow, I gave up and installed openvpn in every device (no downtime detected this way for a couple of weeks already). Perhaps I will give it a try again with this setting. Thanks :)

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

I had to open my mouth... Tonight the problem showed up again, so no need to share my non-working config. :(

OVPN connection loss after TLS re-key

I did not see the issue in the last week since I re-enabled the vpn client (5 days ago), but it doesn't mean the issue is gone, and if it is, it means something changed on server side, because I am still on 374.43_2-26BAj9527 for a while. About the ticket, twice I have been told the routing...

But sometimes after the 6 minutes it reconnects, sometimes not, and I think in that case I find the client disabled in the gui.

@john9527 do you know how this version would treat my case when I find the openvpn client disabled (not manually)?
