[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi John Dnscrypt (set to Cisco OpenDNS) with the Parental Control DNS filter enabled with global filter mode set to 'Router' now appears to be working just fine now for me, looks like a restart of dnsmasq was required after enabling dnscrypt. or just reboot the router which I did :-) then...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi updated my Asus RT-N66u tonight from 20e9 to 22e2 this evening. flashed and rebooted ok but had a few issues with dnscrypt: thought I'd have a try at enabling dnscrypt. I enabled it and selected various different dnscrypt resolvers but each time my DNS was still resolving from OpenDNS...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

just flash John's latest fork (previous was on Merlin 380.57) on my RT N66U. on Merlin's, I could rename dhcp clients to give them a more 'friendly' name, is there a way to do this on John's fork?

    Right firmware for RT-N66U

Hi I flashed John's fork last night on my N66U, from Merlin 380.57 to John's version 374.43_2-17E2, reset to factory settings, and manually entered all settings. So far all appears to be working OK, though the wireless range does not appear all that different than before. one noticeable...

    Right firmware for RT-N66U

thanks, I'll try that. Currently wireless signal is very poor unless I'm in a room right next to the router, and I'm sure when I first purchased the router it was far better than that. should I restore to factory settings via the web GUI, or the reset button on top of the router, or does it...

    Right firmware for RT-N66U

what I might try is flash John's latest fork (over the top of 380.57). hopefully this will 'just work' without the hassle of a factory reset.

    Right firmware for RT-N66U

I'm on Merlin 380.57 on my N66U great router but not impressed with the wireless range. when using an app like WiFi Analyzer I seem to get a stronger signal from my neighbour's BT Home Hub 4 I might try a factory reset sometime to see if this helps

    strange 5ghz issue - N66U

Hi ColinTaylor no changes made at all but on my 5ghz primary channel I have a whole range of numbers available in the drop-down list in the GUI. maybe it's worth resetting the router to factory settings again. 'extension channel' is simply 'auto', no other options available

    strange 5ghz issue - N66U

Hi I have an Asus N66U, currently running latest Merlin 380.57 I thought I would put a post on this forum to see if anyone else has had problems using 5Ghz on this router? I use two separate SSID's for 2.4 and 5ghz bands. wifi performance over 5ghz seems much slower than on 2.4, even when...
