    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

I am most amazed that the satellite is exactly a router... maybe this is why its so expensive. I thought the satellites just amplifi the signal. Looks like Netgear chose to make each satellite a router in its own self and use the backhaul as a "WAN port". Either way, if its going to give solid...

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

I doubt the satellite has same hardware as router, there is WAN missing and I am guessing RAM and CPU and Storage are not same. Maybe you can make a router a satellite not the opposite. I think a cool addition would be unlimited satellites not sure why its limited to 3, then again, 4 APs is an...

How can I separate my tv from the network?

1-does the device on the guest network take an IP from the 192.168.1.x range? 2-This means that the same router will broadcast 2 SSIDs to the same network, does this hinder performace?

How can I separate my tv from the network?

I totally forgot about that. Yes that could work. So how technically the two are separated? is it two VLANs? I understand they have different SSID

How can I separate my tv from the network?

There is something about VLAN in the settings but not sure what it is

How can I separate my tv from the network?

Now that everything is "smart" and are basically a computer, all devices talk to each other on the same network. I have a tv that is connected to the Wifi but I wish for it not to communicate with other devices, don't want to turn the tv on and suddenly I can hear someone phone conversation or...

Is the grass greener on the ASUS side?

is there a small business equipement from cisco? I know there is consumer level then enterprise level. Also, mere mortals like us call the Wifi device "router", I know in reality its a router+switch+wifi and this is the device I am looking for. So far I am running Orbi with Voxel and the...

Thanks. So I have to redo this everytime I reset the system? I used terminal on MacOS and did the follow commands nvram set nocircle=1 nvram set nocloud=1 nvram commit reboot I didn't want to reboot twice it was going to take a lot of time, will it work just as well? Did I have to enter...

Is the grass greener on the ASUS side?

Thanks for reporting this, I guess its not greener. This is my main fear, if something is broken within few months of usage and the replacement isn’t any better you know its shoddy.

Is the grass greener on the ASUS side?

Yes, unfortunately this is the 21st century where the brand name has no meaning. There was a time when you saw “Sony” on a product and you knew, whatever it was, its going to be solid quality and performance wise.

Is the grass greener on the ASUS side?

I have thought about have an separate router and then use consumer 3in1 devices as AP and switch. People report stable performance doing so

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

The Quickstart.txt file has commands to disable Armor similar to the followinf format nvram set noarmor=1 nvram commit reboot I did that and pressed enter after each line, is this correct or i should write it all on one line? Also after I press enter it seems to skip a line in the command...

Is the grass greener on the ASUS side?

I have been researching routers and ASUS is about the only brand I have no idea about. I was a Netgear guy since I had a satisfactory experience with the R7000 but after purchasing a $250 device that died after few uses, forced data collection, and frustrating and glitchy Orbi, I am seeing the...

    Sold Out

I am interested to know why you picked Asus over Netgear or TPLink which I dont prefer but people say it does the same thing but for cheaper price.

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

I am interested to know why was this happening to you. I would imagine stock firmware would be finicky but with Voxel tweaks should be reliable. So far it has been for me. I am also glad to know that I can reset using the method you mentioned just in case.

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

1- Yes that is correct 2-I can tell you when you install voxel your settings will remain, at least thats what happened to me. I don't know if you can restore from a stock firmware backup. I imagine it would work but didnt test it. Voxel itself has the same backup feature If everything is...

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

This reminds me when my ISP would give me speeds between 15-30Mbps, unknown to me, I disabled WMM thinking it was some sort of QoS, when I upgraded to 100+ Mbps I learned that disabling WMM caps your speed at 30Mbps. I believe I had the speed drop too, unfortunately it also happened on Voxel...

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

Out of curiosity, if everything was stable and fine, why did you install a non-official firmware?
