    Orbi info for a newb?

Beamforming should be enabled. MIMO and the rest can be to taste. If you don't have any MIMO supporting devices, you can disable this. Daisy Chain is for having two or more RBS set out in a line from the RBR to piggy back off each other. IF you don't have this configuration, disable Daisy Chain.

    Orbi info for a newb?

Also review this as well: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/ORBI-RBK50-RBS50-Tips-Tricks-Hidden-Secrets-etc/m-p/1745266/highlight/true#M60729 I recommend the Orbi with out separating the SSIDs. Orbi works very well with a signal SSID and PW. If you have problems of connecting 2.4Ghz only...

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

Great. I hear the user on mac host his recovered. Wheew. Hoping that Voxel can make the reset button work for Orbi. I guess users should revert back to stock FW first before resetting the RBR. At least until Voxel can get the reset button and process working as expected. o_O

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

Did you use the TFTP program that NG provides or the one built in to Windows?

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

What process have you been doing to correct the RBR after it's soft bricked? Are you using the TFTP process to get stock FW back on?

    Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.17SF-HW

I see someone posted about this over in the NG forums as well. Posting this link here for additional information on there behalf: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Keep-connecting-to-5GHz-network-despite-disabling-5GHz-SSID/m-p/1902117/highlight/true#M90227 Hopefully a Mac Version of TFTP...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

What was the upgrade path when you updated to v75 or 76? Did you have voxels FW loaded before that? If so, what version had been loaded? Or did you have stock before you had loaded v75?

R7800 Error: No space left on device - Trying to install Entware

Thank you Voxel. I had planned on removing the USB Drive first from the router, then reverting back to stock FW, running some tests, then come back to your FW. Will give this a try and not reset anything.

R7800 Error: No space left on device - Trying to install Entware

Just a quick question, if I were to revert back to stock FW then at some point choose to come back to Voxels FW, what is the best method to backup or reconfigure the router for Entware after Voxels FW is reloaded? I presume if the USB drive is removed and stock FW is loaded, then later on...

How to power down r7800 with usb/sata disks attached

You can just turn OFF the R7800 at the power switch and then disconnect the attached USB Drive(s).

    Orbi AC3000 RBK53 suggestion

What Firmware version is currently loaded? What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to...

[R7800] Will no longer save settings after reboot.

Yes it maybe worth at least making contact with NG and letting them know. Point to this thread and any others that have this problem. You can talk about and beat around the bush about it here in the forums however it's not going to make any changes or any progression. Its worth making contact...

Yep. There's still a R7000 at my work that I connect to. Runs great for wireless.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.75.1SF & v. 1.0.2.75.2SF

Do worry about doing the dropbear or back up. You can skip that. Do this first is what seemed to work best for me. Format the drive in Windows for NTFS. Then install or plug into USB port on router. Enable Telnet under 192.168.#.1/debug.htm. Run telnet program and log in. Run the following...

[R7800] Will no longer save settings after reboot.

Agree. After all due diligence, which you are tasked to do and prove. Troubleshooting and resets and testing with stock vs 3rd party FW to confirm the issues at hand. Then it would be something to hand over to NG for review. It would have to be reviewed by NG. Yes I've had my R7800 since...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

Fast Roaming can be tested to your liking. Beam-forming should be enabled. MIMO is only really needed if you have MIMO supporting devices. Be aware that most wifi devices like phones, pads and cameras all pick and choose what frequency they connect to. 30 feet is recommended in between RBR...
