[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

@Wilson_Deng Will dedicated backhaul be supported in a future for tri-band routers?

RT-AC1900P also supports dual WAN interface

    Nighthawk / ASUS??

I recently tested R7000 vs R7800 and R7000 gave me a better signal. R7800 was $25 more expensive, so I returned it. R7000 has very strong signal, better than my Asus RT-AC1900P, and is very stable. No drops, no packet losses. I think R7000 is one of the best routers around, and it's pretty...

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

I ended up having RT-AC1900P as a main router, and pulled an ethernet cable to R7000, which serves as an AP now. The setup is pretty good and stable across the house. I also tested Extollo 1500 powerline adapters, but those were too slow (50-75 Mbps) compared to the ethernet (900-930 Mbps). Was...

    MoCA adapter question.

I'm trying to connect my wireless router with AP, so 1 Gbps should be more than enough. Costly solution though, ethernet cable will be cheaper. But I think it's better than powerline adapters, which cost less, but the speed is also slower.

    MoCA adapter question.

Hi, I have an unused stretch of coax running from one room to another. Can I utilize it with MoCA adapters? Should I buy 2 ECB6000 or 2 ECB6200? Is there an advantage of using ECB6200 over ECB6000? 6000 is a bit cheaper than 6200 by $20 for 2-pack.

    New router

In this case, speeds were faster on R7000, and there were absolutely no disconnects, unlike with Asus. BTW, you can install Merlin firmware on R7000 http://xvtx.ru/xwrt/about.htm As for hardware, both R7000 and AC68U are almost exactly the same, except R7000 has faster CPU. AC1900P has faster...

    New router

I tested AC1900P vs R7000, and R7000 performed slightly better. I kept R7000, also cheaper.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

I also tested Asus RT-AC1900P from Bestbuy, but it was performing worse than R7000, so I kept R7000, the best performance so far, and the cheapest.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

Two of the nearby OfficeMax stores are closing, and they were selling those at 50% off.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

I tested R7800, and the performance was worse than R7000. I will keep R7000.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

OK, I'll keep R7000, or maybe replace it with R7800.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

No, I just want one router. My house is pretty small. Not sure if for additional $25 R7800 or for additional $100 EA9500 might be a better choice?

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

So you say that it may be a waste of money, and just keep R7000, because it's working fine, and the coverage is fine? So far the coverage was pretty good, and no disconnects, and minimal packet loss.

    Linksys EA9500 vs EA9200 vs Netgear R7800 vs R7000

Hi, I'm in a process of replacing my Asus RT-N66U, which I was using for around 4 years with Merlin's firmware. But it started to die. So far I tried R7000 and TP-link C3200. TP-link was not good, one of the 5GHz band was almost not usable, and the other band experienced weak signal...
