Asuswrt-Merlin - custom build of the Asus RT-N66U firmware

LOL.....sounds so complicated so i chickened out in installing optware. Since I still have the d-link dir-655 which was replaced by asus rt-n66u, I set up the dlink as an access point and used the the dlink to custom add no-ip ddns service. so far, working well. the only draw back is that...

Asuswrt-Merlin - custom build of the Asus RT-N66U firmware

This is quite an interesting approach, a mix of both stock firmware and 3rd party firmware....perhaps 'the best of both world'...... Thanx RMerlin or whom ever who started this project!! so stock firmware 108 is better and more stable than 112?? few things I don't like about stock...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

another thing asus stock firmware sucks too is that it doesn't have no-ip DDNS service. They have their own ddns service which i heard is non-existence and the rest are paid ddns services. I have a free one with no-ip but i can't add into the list.....dang! I may have to flash with shibby's...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

Not sure why I couldn't log into the router through command line/telnet using the user id and password that i've always used to get into the web GUI. I checked and Telnet was enabled. anyways, using shibby's fw i flashed the router with stock fw 112 and cleared NVRAM. the router is back up...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

no internet connectivity wondering if someone can PLEASE help me. not sure if it's coincidental or not but last night while trying to set up a wireless bridge with linksys wes610n, i changed my 5ghz band to be in wireless mode and after saving the settings my rt-n66u could not get onto the...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

reverting back to stock fw I loaded shibby 085v right off the bat after i bought the router home, but so far haven't seen much improved throughput b/w asus rt-n66u and my old d-link dir 655. After reading several reviews, ofw is the recommended firmware so I'm thinking of reverting to asus...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

Shibby 085v Hi, I am using Shibby 085v fw. hope someone can help me with something: (1) QoS, whenever I enable QoS, I noticed that my internet slowed down after a few hours. I'd have to reset the modems and rt-n66u. If I want to stream high bitrate 1080p content wirelessly, do i need to...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

Thank you for replying. Yes, I'ved tried to optimize QOS but not even sure what I am doing is correct. For both inbound/outbound, i tried to allocate more % to Media and Downloading but other than that not sure what else I can do. what's odd is that i have the Synology NAS DS111 connected to...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

shibby v085 I'm new to flashing router with 3rd party sw, wondering if anyone can please help me. I recently bought the rt-n66u and flashed with shibby latest fw, v085 by the miniweb method instead of using the recovery method. the upgrade was rather QUICK. I read somewhere that it takes up...
