Netgear WNDR3700 available in the UK

Brilliant - thanks Tim. Fingers crossed it's a good product. I'll keep my eyes open on SNB for your review.

Netgear WNDR3700 available in the UK

Hmm, so it looks like Broadbandbuyer have jumped the gun somewhat. How long in advance of general availability do products appear in the FCC database? rgds

Netgear WNDR3700 available in the UK

That's good info - thanks As the WRT400N seems to be let down by features as opposed to function (other than range for the 5Ghz band), it looks quite encouraging. Certainly worth looking out for. thanks

Netgear WNDR3700 available in the UK

It seems that it's now finally available here in the UK - £130 http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/Reviews.asp?ProductID=7564 I guess it'll be a few weeks at best before SmallNetBuilder get their hands on them, but would anyone like to comment on the specs - is the CPU fast enough to give...

Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router Reviewed

Could you try streaming large quantities of data - really hammering it for an hour or so? I think that's when the problem generally manifests itself. thanks very much

    NAS Suggestions

Good input all - thanks Just going through this note stream I think that my last comment in response to Claykin could have looked a little curt - apologies if that's the case - it wasn't supposed to. I ask questions and for opinions so that I can make the right choice, regardless of whether...

    NAS Suggestions

Thanks Claykin - I wasn't aware of mesh.com - presumably I could write a cron job to do an automated copy of the most volatile / important data, tho using a backup system that you're not totally in control of seems a little risky to me. Anyone else got anything else to add - more related to...

    NAS Suggestions

Hi, I'm looking to buy a NAS for home use, and think I've whittled it down to a couple of options. My requirements are as follows: Windows, Mac and Linux access Stability Good support - be able to phone tech support and be able to speak to someone SVN Server (incl HTTP support) RAID5...

Thecus is looking for your NAS wishlist

The most important thing to me is stability. Companies like QNap do a great job of increasing the featureset, but from looking at forums, they don't always seem well tested. Synology seem to me to have fewer problems, but are considerably more expensive. My data is extremely valuable to me...

Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router Reviewed

Does this router allow static IP addresses to be added to DNS? My Linksys WAH354G router has nothing to allow a machine with a static IP address to be accessible (via DNS) to other machines on the network, other than by editing the hosts file on each machine, which is obviously a bit of a...

Pulling ahead of the RAID 5 Pack: QNAP TS-509 Pro Reviewed

Thanks for the info Corndog - I appreciate you passing on your experiences - it's really what I was looking for. I guess things are never really clear cut. It looks like whatever product I decide to buy, I should let others try out new firmware for a few weeks before I try it... :-) rgds...

Pulling ahead of the RAID 5 Pack: QNAP TS-509 Pro Reviewed

I've been following this thread quite closely - I'm in the market for a NAS box, and this is on the list of options (along with the Synology DS408 and the new Sans Digital MN4L, but am holding off until I've read comprehensive reviews of both products). One thing that is putting me off the...

    DS408 review

Thanks Tim - I'll look forward to reading about it. Sorry, my choice of wording was obviously not very good. I've read a number of reviews of different NAS boxes on different sites (tho the SmallNetBuilder reviews have become my main point of reference due to their comprehensiveness), and a...

    DS408 review

Hi, A great site - a really good reference point for all sorts of purchases I'm investigating. Could someone give me an idea as to the timescales for a review of the new Synology DS408 NAS? I was considering the CS407 (which seems to have been replaced by the DS408), the QNap TS409, and...
