Im totally with you.. Ive always had good luck with ASUS. They do make some good hardware. But after thinking more on it they really are not good on the software end of things. And to be honest they never really were. Most people that had prior used ASUS routers almost always used an alternate...

Honestly in my opinion there likely aren't enough out there.. But from what Merlin has said it doesn't sound likely he will be making any firmware anytime soon.. And maybe he wont even bother at all.. Sounds like it is a whole different set up to create such firmware. But he can explain it...

Well as sad as it is to say this but im also wiping my hands clean of this.. Im done.. Ive clearly seen the light and know when its time to say enough is enough.. There are several things ive learned about ASUS. There not the company that once was. And honestly they only thing that made them...

While I agree there maybe a lot of costs involved with this ROG router and as a company like ASUS they should have known better then to release a router like this.. Im sorry but after this nightmare of a router I may never buy another ASUS product again.. And as far as Merlin helping out with...

I logged into my router and have the notification at the top right corner saying there is a firmware update available. Little flashing bell.. But it says cant connect to Asus to retrieve it.. There firmware is so buggy that it took done there site! LOL.. jk jk...

Thanks Vexira! I appreciate the explanation.. When I do a test on my xbox I always noticed it said I'm under a cone Nat. And I always wondered what the heck that was.. I will read more up on it.. Oh btw I haven't been happy with my GT 5300 since day one.. I wont purchase another Asus router in...

When I log into my router on the main page at the bottom there is Network Ping and Ping Deviation. What is Network Ping accounting for? I'm confused if that is the ping with in my own house hold or more then that.. Thanks!

Can I ask what the benefit would be to have this type of option?

Does anyone know about this Fresh JR QoS? Is it a firmware that can be loaded into the GT 5300? I wonder what this would do for my gaming..

Netgear xr500 your experiences with this router.

Ive been looking at this Netgear XR500. I'm thinking about purchasing one. Does anyone here know if this will get the new Duma Os with the Anti-jitter/Anti Spike feature? I was wondering if there only going to keep that feature for the R1 users.. Any one here know? Thanks!

I have a issue and was wondering if anyone can help me out with it. When I enable IPv6 in my router my bandwidth eliminator quits working in the QoS section. The minute I disable IPv6 it works again. Anyone else run across this? Is this normal or anyone know what the issue maybe? I find this...

Ha ha I think we ordered a Shelby GT but just got a GT with a 4 banger.. lol. But yes I'm saying if I hook up my old Netgear I don't experience this issue. Plus my Netgear latency doesn't creep up. It stays low and doesn't move. What I find strange with this GT5300 is if I reboot the router it...

Ha ha Rolo I do like the part where you said THIS router..lol. But I do understand what you mean. There are a wide range of variables here. What I cant understand is why my latency slowly creeps up! My old Netgear doesn't do this at all.. I'm still keeping an open mind about this router but I'm...

I agree with what your saying. My concern is when I do the test for buffer bloat on dsl reports I'm off the chart for buffer bloat. Specially download. My upload isn't as bad but I still have concern about it. Why I mention this here is when I first got this router I was able to adjust this...

Thanks Merlin for the reply.. After I sent that message I wasn't sure. But now I know.. Merlin can you shed some light on what might cause a game to physically run slow? Something tells me my issue might have to do with buffering or buffer bloat.. The game usually starts out fine then this...

Ha ha Merlin ive always wondered why you seemed to avoid this router like the plague.. But now I'm understanding this a bit better.. Ive been meaning to ask you this exact question many times but didn't in fear you have been likely asked a thousand times before me..
