Devolo Debuts Mesh WiFi System With Powerline Backhaul

This is not a Qualcomm chip who do not make a G.hn chip. It uses MaxLinear's G.hn chip. devolo's retail product is based on their ISP product announced here: http://techbriefing.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=430363 The G.hn standard does not interoperate with devolo's...

Comtrend PG-9172 G.hn Powerline Adapter Reviewed

You can, but there is not really many reasons to do so. The sharing of the bandwidth is smarter if you use the same technologies. You can have two independent (logical ) bridges (aka LANs) using the same technologies. The signals from either technology will cross phases in the circuit...

Comtrend PG-9172 G.hn Powerline Adapter Reviewed

From the G.9964 standard table 6-4. Also have look at the table on page 2 of: http://www.sigmadesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/CG5300_br.pdf And the PHY Data Rates on page 1 of: http://www.marvell.com/in-home-networking/ghn/assets/Marvell_Ghn_Chipset-002_product%20brief.pdf

Comtrend PG-9172 G.hn Powerline Adapter Reviewed

"G.hn occupies a band from 300 MHz to 2.6 GHz," The above is false. On powerline G.hn uses 2-50 MHz or 2-80 MHz bands. The Marvell chip in MIMO mode uses 2-50 MHz band in SISO mode uses 2-80 MHz.

    The Truth Behind HomePlug "Speed"

@tim Higgins "I don't have QCA's calculation handy, but it's apparently way more conservative," Note that QCA 7500 only uses 2-67MHz AV2 band while BRCM uses, as you pointed out, 2-86.1MHz. This is one of the reasons QCA's PHY AV2 rates are lower than BRCM's. QCA7500 in SISO mode is quoted by...
