    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

I wouldn't get a 56u from the same company that made it's predecessor worse. Let's hope they fix any issues. These disconnect issues seem to be reported only by 1-2 people on here.

Word from Asus: They're investigating the disconnect issue.

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

I wouldn't ever get the 56u if I knew the 66u was worse. That's just flawed.

Dude I'd do a firmware restore (with the most current). If that doesn't fix it. Exchange it for another one.

I was thinking in bed another solution until they fix the DLNA server is just run a Tversity Server.

Yea but Amazon has free 2 day shipping (because I'm a student) and a much better (no restocking fee) return policy than newegg. I have a felling Amazon will get it around the same time as Newegg.

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

I'm on the Amazon waiting list. Also chances are that it won't ever fall below $150 new. Your best bet is to keep on emailing them and wait it out. Other than that if you don't use QOS or DLNA it's a rock solid router. If your that bent on QOS or DLNA just install Tomato. Maybe I'll get one...

Ipad killing my network. help please

We'll your first problem is having a Belkin for a for a router. :) Second you only need 1 DHCP server per subnet. More than 1 can cause ip conflicts or no ip address at all. I'd make sure only one router on the same subnet has DHCP enabled.

Bring it all to Networking_Support@asus.com. Make sure you have the newest firmware flashed.

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

I agree with you. It looks bad for the company and is unlike Asus. I think the best thing to do now is pester them to fix it. Not to mention idk about you but $200 doesn't come by to quickly as I'm a student and between that and the rarity of this router right now on the market, flashing it...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Dude they already fixed most of the problems and there working on the DLNA and Loopback NAT issues. Right now as it stands the most current firmware is STABLE and gives you the fastest throughput and range. I don't know where you were in this forum. EDIT: After viewing Gerners Tomato Youtube...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

I plan on using the Asus firmware. I feel like after paying $200 for a router I should be able to expect it's stock firmware to do everything I want it to do and be the best.

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

networking_support@asus.com is a valid email address. I'm still planning on getting it. I believe it's still a better all around router than the RT-N56u and the best on the market. It's a shame and weird though it doesn't beat the RT-N56u's total simultaneous throughput. But 810 mbps is...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

Yea. Send all bug reports to Networking_Support@asus.com. BTW about the other posters comment about the Netgear WNDR4500. About a year ago I went through 2 WNDR3700's both version 1 and version 2. They are simply defective pieces of junk. It wouldn't give my Windows 7 box an ip address...

    ASUS RT-N66U - my review

It's not a pass at all. All you have to do is update the firmware out of the box (Make sure it's predownloaded). I agree though you shouldn't have to update your new router to make it "functional". Another fortunate thing is this sounds like a software problem that can be solved with an update.
