Ready to buy the Fastest wired router

I reccomend getting a cheap wireless router. You might not get the range as some of the other routers or gigabit ethernet ports. You may have to use extenders. But you won't come across stupid bugs. I've owned every top router from every company (except the Netgear WNDR4500, Asus, and Dlink)...

    Netgear WNDR4500 or Linksys E4200V2?

Neither your better off with a cheaper one cause they have less bugs.

Ready to buy the Fastest wired router

Asus N66u barly even out yet. But beware a lot of these fancy routers have common problems that the cheaper (more popular) routers don't have. It's just the consumer level of routers.

how to Bridge two Asus Rt-56u

I don't think you can because it doesn't support DD-WRT and that's not a supported feature.

    Anybody try the Netgear WNDR4500?

I remember when I had the WNDR3700v2 all I had was DHCP problems. My computer would have a private 169. ip address. I hear if your not using windows for some reason the DHCP server works better. Are you using windows clients?

    WNDR3700 v2 - will I notice the performance hit against a v1?

I'd stay away from Netgear all together. Nothing but DHCP problems. Stay with Linksys.

Wndr3700 does not like powerline feed?

I was just telling you my experience and a big problem with Netgear and why I hate Netgear.

Wndr3700 does not like powerline feed?

I didn't know you have another router managing DHCP. Most people just use a wireless router as a AP if they don't have any wired clients (that handles DHCP). I'm not a mind reader and didn't know your network configuration. I don't know where your coming from with inflammatory comments. I...

Wndr3700 does not like powerline feed?

Ok. When it's being used as a AP it still is routing. It's suppose to assign ip addresses and manage network traffic. Instead this POS is not giving you a ip address at all and is not communicating with the node. The node will then give itself a link local ip address (169.). This means your...

Wndr3700 does not like powerline feed?

It doesn't. Your router is dysfunctional. It's something that was never fixed by Netgear and probably won't. You can either install DD-WRT on it and try to see if that solves your problems or you can just return it for a Linksys E4200. Feel free to join the many Netgear hate groups on...

    Anybody try the Netgear WNDR4500?

Is it as buggy and dysfunctional as all their other products (with the exception of their switches)?
