    RT-AX88U router randomly dropping connectivity

100%. My AX11000 (I know the thread is AX88U, sorry) has this issue, and that's why it's now an (AiMesh) extender. I basically reset and cleared everything under the sun, and it's been super-stable as my extender (except a minor issue earlier this year).

Merlin GT-AX11000 Internet Up But No Traffic Passing

This has been widely discussed, for years. The AX11000 is terrible. I'm now on my fifth (one new order; three RMA; one return - and I've had a couple generations) One of my many posts (TITLE is AC86U; but content is AX11000 - you can search for more), some of which had people attacking me for...

    AiMesh FAILURE - cannot add AX11000, GT-AC5300, RT-AC5300

Final comment - by pulling out all older (non-388) devices -AND- turning off all the QOS + Trend crap, reliability improved tremendously, speed doubled, and stability is far better. iPhone 15 Pro Max = 800Mbps Most Win11/Mac = 700Mbps Win10 client and macOS 14 on Repeater (AX11000) = 550Mbps

    AiMesh FAILURE - cannot add AX11000, GT-AC5300, RT-AC5300

Asus has claimed that "any device which supports AiMesh will work with any other." I confirmed 50x. And, yes, with posts in the past - AX11000, AC5300, GT5300 were okay. But radios degrade and die, so I wanted a new main. I replaced it all with Google. Much better. Not as fast on top end, but...

    AiMesh FAILURE - cannot add AX11000, GT-AC5300, RT-AC5300

After years and years of success with AiMesh, I am at my wits end after 5 hours of hell. IN SUMMARY - WHAT CAN I DO TO CONNECT AN AIMESH NODE TO A NEW AXE16000? I've tried wired and wireless, (computer) browser and (mobile) app. WAN up, WAN down. Other wifi devices off. NEW: AXE16000 main...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

I'm now on my third MyQ. Their WIFI radio is weak trash. >10 feet, it fails. With a whole host of routers, including Asus, Ubiquiti, and Google. The BLUETOOTH (I think) i.e. sensor <> hub, is super strong. Like, it penetrates two walls without issue. But having a blinking light and beeping in my...

    Starting to despair

My MyQ (Chamberlain) wifi signal is absolute TRASH. I've been through three, and they're all bad. Support was useless. However - whatever they use for communication from hub <> garage door sensor is super strong - operates ~15-20 feet through walls. It doesn't make sense.

    Starting to despair

... and garage door openers, thermostats, smart plugs... my guess is power (draw), cost, fit, and/or internal interference.

    Wi-Fi calling

This could be a network thing higher up (i.e. your cable/fiber/whatever internet gateway), but I've had wifi calling issues for years. Oftentimes I have to force airplane mode for wifi calling to work. Turning WiFi calling off - even when I speak with the network providers - helps for a couple...

WiFi drops devices and won't reconnect until restart - RT-AC86U

Just for some more nonscientific data: I have three AC68U's - yes, they're great and rock solid. But on a test network (backup T-Mobile Home 5G not primary fiber), .9 is experiencing issues. Yes, I've factory reset, cleared settings, started from scratch. 386.7_2 (and actualy 386.5_2) have been...

WiFi drops devices and won't reconnect until restart - RT-AC86U

Funny - my AC68U (still running 386.7_2 and earlier) are rock-solid stable. My AX11000, however... I'm on my fourth one... due to drop-outs. But as per the post above, I wouldn't put it past radio failure.

    RT-AX88U router randomly dropping connectivity

So I'm on my THIRD AX11000 (sorry, it's different, but similar). I use it as an EXTENDER with my main GT-AC5300. AX11000 running 388 (Asus official). AC5300 running 386 (can't go to 388). I've had battles with Asus (escalation) support, including asinine questions around signal strength...

    AC68 - Hardest Crash Ever

wow - this thread saved me - I have three AC68U's and one is on the verge of dying... so was going to flash 386.9 on the replacement...

Block access to TikTok in the morning and evening

btw TikTok has changed their methods since this post started. We used to block it via tiktokdns.com, but their server farm and FQDN's changed... (this is for enterprise, not home - for HOME, we block this Chinese PLA/PRC-linked trash - yes TikTok is political - via the phone - iOS Screen Time...

    AiMesh mixed 386 with 388?

Yeah right - you ever deal with their tech support?! also it's not specific to Mesh -- same thing if used as an extender. Been going on for years.

    AiMesh mixed 386 with 388?

yeah I've tried this - posted about 3x about the oddity... if I use EITHER RT-AC5300 or GT-AC5300 as MAIN, the AX11000 as node/access point/slave still gets 400-500mbps (max). 250-350 (average/normal). If I use the GT-AX11000 as MAIN, and either of the above as slave (or AC68U, AX68, AX88...

    AiMesh mixed 386 with 388?

Anyone do this? My AX11000 can upgrade to the latest 388 (thankfully delayed instead of the buggy one from last year), but my GT-AC5300 is stuck on 386. Am I asking for problems by upgrading the 11000?
