Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

My issue appears to be “solved” by scheduled (or manual) rebooting twice a week. Also I moved a number (~20) of devices to the 2.4Ghz band. For you, I’ve had the same issue with standard Asus firmware and Merlin. Note that an earlier issue (not posted here) was my AC68U extenders dropping and...

    ASUS GT-AX11000 High ping

first, what did you use for CAD/house layout? Looks great. Second, I’ve had an issue with my AX11000 (I think hardware rev A) where my ping and noise/RSSI suck compared to older AC68U (I have three - one in use, one hot standby for power outages, and one warm standby when my main AC5300 stops...

    Wireless direction relative to house

and then outside of utopia land, my home and businesses have things called walls. Shoving my AX11000 in the corner of a room, with antennas in no particular order, has the same net effect as a pristine spot in the center of same room, on a table, with antennas in perfect alignment and harmony...

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

My UPS powers BGW320 (RG+ONT) for 5-8 hours. it cannot, however, power my sump pump right near it...

    Wireless direction relative to house

Theoretical is great. Look at how well Covid turned out. I wrote a masters thesis on the impact of a pandemic to GDP.

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

I said and meant internet. I get full 980 bidirectional even though my food is spoiling. AT&T somehow maintains power. Comcast does not.

What's the verdict on the RT-AX88U vs RT-AX86U vs GT-AXE11000 if I'm buying today

I'm jumping in late here, but here's my experience: 1. The GT- (especially the AX11000) models do not have Merlin, and (according to him) will not. Too big a pain in the butt for him to do it, and I can't disagree. 2. Wi-Fi 6 is a complete waste right now. Show me devices which take advantage of...

    Wireless direction relative to house

I performed scientific testing at two major universities and corporate campuses (+ empirical in homes). The early articles are currently down (CMP Publications acquired), but continue to move antennas on my AC5300 and AX11000 and re-test signal strength, interference, and performance (in-home...

    Wireless direction relative to house

Gee - maybe because people mount them differently? Like up against a wall instead of laying flat. And btw - I’ve scientifically tested WiFi (back to 928Mhz DSSS Lucent devices in 1993), and now have a home brew mesh / extender configuration - AC5300 main, AX11000 office, and two AC68U for IoT...

Why do AC68U repeaters not report IP's? (AX11000 does)

slight update - some (wireless devices on repeater) are reporting as wired, but they come and go (inconsistent).

Why do AC68U repeaters not report IP's? (AX11000 does)

So this is, again, odd. I have an AC68U repeater. Works great. But it does NOT report client IP's through to the AC5300 main. I have an AX11000 repeater (don't ask why it's not main). Also works great. And it DOES report client IP's through to the AC5300 main. Any ideas why?

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

Yeah I know - should have been precise - the behavior appears to act as if I’m out of DHCP leases, but it’s not allowing known or static devices on, and only on that band. max number of concurrent clients is under 50, including smart crap - lights, echo, speakers, etc which I try to put on the...

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

Fact - I’m running as plain a configuration as possible. Only areas touched (in initial setup) are subnet (changed from default 192.168.1.1), WiFi (names - each band is separate), and (post initial reboot) fixed/static addresses for 15 devices which get pissy (printer, desktop, lights, cameras)...

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

Zero scripts and customizations. 40 clients on the network. What options and features? Come on dude. Everything worked fine, and then started acting up. I've reset my router (on average) once every nine months. I format the JFFS partition once a month, if not more often. When I do that, I lose...

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

It's odd that only one band is denying clients. Changing the channel kicks it in the nuts and fixes it (sometimes), but my extenders then go offline. It's been an issue with 384.16, 17, 18, and 19... and I'm leery to install 386.1 beta.

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

Thank you for correcting semantics. Now do you have any help/input on a solution?

Wireless can't connect -one- *BAND* (AC5300/weird)

So I've been an Asus and Merlin user for years. Currently on 384.19 across all devices (AC5300 and two AC68U). I'm having an issue where - after some time like a day or two - I cannot connect to ONE of my three channels on an AC5300 (5Ghz-high). Connecting to the others (2.4Ghz and 5.4Ghz-low)...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Are there folks who have (successfully) gone from 384 > 386 “dirty” without factory default reset? (Those who didn’t use alpha)

    Extending AT&T/Arris BGW-320 with AC68U

Wired to AT&T gateway = Fast - 900+/900+ But I ALSO get wicked fast speeds in these situations: 1. 900+/800+ Wired to my Asus MAIN router (this is plugged into AT&T gateway - 1Gb port, not 2.5G/5G) 2. 500+/500+ Wireless to Asus MAIN router (note: wireless speed is lower to AT&T - 200/300 - since...

[ROG RAPTURE GT-AX11000] Experiences & Discussion

I had this happen with an HP printer, but it could be unrelated. 1. Do you have "MAC and IP Address Binding" (did you basically assign it a static IP, or force the IP to be assigned)? 2. Most importantly, do you have Roaming Assistant turned OFF? 3. Have you tried different wireless channels...
